Are you looking to find problems with my child?”

This is a question that parents sometimes understandably have when their child or teenager begins therapy.

And my answer is simple: absolutely not.

As a therapist, I am not there to search for what is “wrong” with your child. I am there to understand them.

Every child, teenager and adult who comes into therapy brings their own story. Part of my role is to create a space where that story can be heard — without judgement, without immediately trying to change it, and without defining someone by the difficulties they are experiencing.

For children in particular, being heard is important. But even more important is feeling understood.

My role is to recognise and acknowledge the challenges a person is facing while also helping them discover something that can sometimes become hidden when life feels difficult: their enormous strengths.

Those strengths matter.

Therapy can help a child begin to understand themselves differently. It can build confidence, nurture self-esteem and help them develop practical tools for the areas of life they find difficult.

For an autistic child, for example, we should never minimise the very real challenges that school, relationships, sensory experiences or everyday life can bring. But neither should those challenges become the whole story of who that child is.

With the right understanding and support, we can recognise the difficulties and build upon the child's abilities, qualities, interests and strengths.

That is the kind of therapy I believe in.

Not “What is wrong with you?”

But:

“What has life been like for you?”
“What do you find difficult?”
“What do you need from the people around you?”
“And what are the incredible strengths within you that perhaps you haven't recognised yet?”

I want parents, children, teenagers and adults coming into therapy to feel something that can easily become lost when life feels overwhelming:

Hope.

Hope that with understanding, the right support and the right tools, life can begin to feel different.

Less overwhelming.
More understood.
More confident.
And, ultimately, more empowering.

REVIEW

" I trained with Megan from Bibble & Bubble in Baby Massage and she was brilliant. Megan has years of professional experience, she is so passionate and extremely knowledgeable. She is also still actively teaching classes herself and running her business. (When many other training providers are not!) When I enquired about the course, she called me and we talked for as long as I needed. Due to all of these things, the course content, delivery and training days were spot on and up to date. Megan was there to answer, and still is, all my questions and needs. She covered everything from the practical side to the business side. The online portal and training days were extremely in depth and Megan is a fountain of knowledge. I felt confident and fully prepared to start teaching after the training and I am now looking forward to doing further training with Megan in Baby Yoga. Thank you!"
