Great to listen to Mali Collerado (Southampton FC Academy GK Coach) tonight on many things goalkeeping!

It was great to see so many grassroots coaches online too to see how they can incorporate their goalkeepers into their sessions. 👏

Some of the key takeaways for me were to ensure you really get to know your keepers on a personal level as early as possible to build trust and confidence, as well as designing sessions that incorporate the three elements of the practice spectrum to create different learning outcomes and opportunities.

Wishing both AFC Portchester Ladies and AFC Stubbington Ladies the best of luck in their cup final today.

I’ve enjoyed worked with Stubbington and their young keepers the past two years, so it’s great to see the ladies doing so well and paving such a bright future for the superstars I have worked with 🧤

Having played for Portchester this season, I am looking forward to being part of the coaching team at the game today and working with, and supporting, Millie between the sticks 🥅

Best of luck to both teams - I thinks it’s going to be a fantastic game! ⚽️🧤🏆

Looking for ways to keep your gloves busy when the season ends? Did you know they are great for helping with gardening and picking up bricks 🧱 🧤

All jokes aside, I’m hoping to be able to offer some sessions during the summer months, however I am still recovering from a torn calf so I can’t finalise any particular plans at the moment.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌷 to those of you out there!

A day to celebrate the wonderful mums in whatever form that may be - but also a shoutout to any dads who also have to play the role of mum 🫶 By far the hardest job in the world - but the one that means the most!

May your day be filled with love, happiness and absolutely no lie in (partly thanks to kids, and partly thanks to the clocks!! 🤪)

And that’s a wrap on Season 24/25 with Stubbington Youth & AFC Stubbington Football Club. 🧤

I’ve had the pleasure of 2no, back-to-back sessions each month with the groups this season and I have loved watching them grow.

Every single one of them has improved in some way or another, and it’s been a joy to hear that through their parents, coaches but most importantly through them. They’ve brought so much energy, laughter and camaraderie to the sessions - it’s been an absolute pleasure to work with them!

I recently re-completed my Introduction to First Aid in Football Qualification. ⚽️🩹

This qualification expires every 3 years so I have made sure I am back up to date with the latest guidance and information. I hope I never have to use it, but it’s there in my mind should I need to.

This course costs £30 and is completed online in a series of modules that you can do at your own pace - I would strongly recommend anyone involved in the game (parents, coaches, players) completes it.
From Concussion guidelines to Sudden Cardiac Arrest, you genuinely could learn how to save a life and not just in football.

Wow 🤩 What a message to receive today!

It’s great to hear that techniques we work on are having such big impacts in game scenarios. While we try and best replicate the moments to use them in training sessions, for a keeper to apply them to the right situation in a game is full credit to them.

Particularly delighted for this keeper who has really put the effort in of late and it’s so nice to hear it paying off for him.
