What a day! We are super proud to announce that the Kernow Piskies and our founder Laura has been nominated for two awards from the The National Diversity Awards.

The comments coming through already are filling our hearts with so much love and appreciation for this community we are building.

We have only been fully active the past few months and it is amazing to see the impact and personal statements that people are leaving as part of their votes and nominations. Thank you 🥰

One of our wonderful players has nominated the team and our founder, Laura for two National Diversity Awards.

This project has really grown over the past few weeks and we are proud to represent Cornwall within the IGR community

It might have originally been Laura's idea, but it is from others buying into the project, such as Cornwall Pride and support from the players and others that it has began to thrive.

We are proud to provide an inclusive environment for people to be fit and active, try something new, find their community and take part in rugby.

As a new team, looking to join the we are proud to finally reveal our new Home kit for the coming season.

We love it that we are one of the few teams in the UK who can hold regular training sessions on our beautiful sandy Cornish beaches and wanted a playing kit to embody this.

Also, given the current economic climate and challenges as a new club this streamlined and sustainable design optimises our resources and funds available.

As we only have one main kit sponsor, , who we value and appreciate immensely, there is no point getting more kit yet. Their logo can just go on the front. If we get more sponsors we might get more kit.

This kit enhances player mental health with increased access to vitamin D, all over the body and eradicated the problem of dodgy tan lines from shorts and Tshirts.

We are a forward thinking sustainable club and want to reduce waste from fast fashion and textiles. Smaller kit, means the Kernow Piskies have reduced our negative kit impact and carbon footprint by 95% as it uses less fabric and less water to wash it after matches. If we have a sea dip after training and matches, we don't actually need to wash it at all. Or at least that is what our Kit Secretary says...

🏳️‍⚧️ Trans people belong in sport.

Today, on Trans Day of Visability, we celebrate our trans teammates, friends and community who make our club stronger, braver and better.

As a community and as allies, we must remember that visibility without protection is vulnerability and we must be there for our trans+ siblings. Because there is no pride for some of us, without liberation for all of us.

Visibility matters. Inclusion matters. And we will always stand on the side of respect, dignity and belonging in our game.

This week we will be having our first beach rugby session.

Come and join us at Gylly Beach in Falmouth to meet the team, enjoy some music, play some rugby and just chill at this more social session.

🕕 Time: 6 - 7pm

As the weather gets better and the days grow longer, we plan to host Rugby and Beach BBQ's, enjoy sea dips and sunsets together ❤️

🏉✨️Training tonight - Join us for our final installment of the FREE 4 week Just TRY Rugby Programme.

🕡18:30-20:00 at Penryn Campus MUGA.

it might be the last Just TRY session tonight, but this is just the start of everything.

Something bigger than us all, somewhere that will be a safe space for OUR community in Cornwall to come together and play rugby. We all know how important that is for us. If you can turn up tonight please do.

We have a break next week from training, but we will be back at it the week after.

✨️ It seems very appropriate that we made history yesterday by hosting our first ever rugby session during .

We welcomed 22 new players to this amazing sport for Week 1 of our Just TRY Rugby Programme. Most had never even watched a rugby game before, let alone picked up a ball.

Everyone showed such confidence by trying something new. We are so proud of those who turned up to train with us and we cannot wait to see you again soon.

We still have 3 weeks left of FREE sessions for people to come and take part. All gender identities are welcome. All abilities are welcome.

This is a safe space for you to be yourself, try something new, make friends and get fit!
