Thank you Cornwall Community Foundation for mentioning us amongst such a fantastic list of groups and organisations.
Today, on Su***de Prevention Day, we’re shining a light on the incredible organisations across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly working every day to prevent su***de, support those affected by su***de, improve mental health and make sure no one has to face things alone.
Su***de rates in Cornwall are 46% higher than England overall (Vital Signs 2025). A shocking statistic that has unfortunately affected so many of us. We are proud to be supporting groups across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly who are working to change this.
From creating safe spaces to talk, to providing peer support, building connection and helping people find their way through difficult times, these organisations are making a real difference in communities across the duchy.
These are just a handful of groups we’ve had the privilege of supporting over the years:
💛 Georgia's Voice Supporting Young Women's Mental Health creates safe, confidential spaces for young women aged 18–25, helping them feel heard, supported and less alone. (pictured)
💛 ABandofBrothers Cornwall brings men together through mentoring and community, helping young men build connection, belonging and purpose.
💛 Sunrise Cornwall CIC supports people affected by su***de, helping those living with the ripple effects of loss to find connection, hope and healing.
💛 Penhaligons Friends provides specialist bereavement support for children and young people across Cornwall, including those affected by the death of someone through su***de.
💛 Cornwall Mind provides vital mental health and wellbeing support across Cornwall, including support for people bereaved by su***de and programmes focused on resilience and prevention.
💛 The Sparkle Foundation UK is working to support men who are lonely, isolated or struggling with their mental health (Steve’s Legacy).
Today, and every day, let’s keep talking and listening.
If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available. In Cornwall, you can call NHS 111 and select option 2 for 24/7 mental health support. You can also call Samaritans on 116 123, free, day or night. If someone’s life is at immediate risk, call 999.
The world is a better place with you in it 💛
