The men's Tuesday night inter-squad racing series came to a close last night after an incredible 12 weeks of racing.

With four crews taking to the water each week, it's been fantastic to see everyone rowing together, pushing each other on, and creating our best summer series yet.

Alan had already wrapped up the overall title heading into the final round with some amazing coxing, while Billy secured the top rower spot with a win on the final night.

A huge well done to everyone who took part – bring on next summer! 🚣

Under 14’s Championships, Sunday 19th July 2026

Hosted by Hayle Pilot Gig Club, Under 14’s Championships is always the highlight of the year for our youngest rowers. Normally held at Copperhouse Pool in Hayle, this year’s event had to be moved to Stithians Lake due to renovation work. Hayle Gig Club did an amazing job to make everything run like clockwork, a supersmooth event!
We arrived to the smell of bacon sandwiches and an unusual coolness to the air. Those that had brought an extra layer were very grateful. The cloud cover remained for most of the day, along with the breeze creating perfect rowing conditions.
Drawn in Heat 7, we first raced against Tamar and Tavy and Padstow. Falmouth chased Tamar and Tavy down the course, finishing 2nd but with a time fast enough to put them into the Plate semi-finals. Needless to say, the crew were thrilled!
Each race saw the crew consolidate their efforts. With a stronger start for the semi final race they nudged ahead quickly, followed every instruction and with a massive lift at the end, managed to stay ahead and win convincingly to go into the final. There was a lot of determination in the boat as we headed out to race Appledore and Helford in the final. This was a tight race, with us just ahead most of the way until a late push by Appledore made for a photo finish giving a bit of uncertainty as to the winner. Appledore were magnanimous as they confirmed that the finisher had called Falmouth, followed by Appledore without even closing the channel. We won by less than a second, with Appledore’s cox being kind enough to say that he was honoured to have raced in a final with Falmouth. They nearly had us! The trophy has now been located and is on its way to us.
Big thanks to HPGC and the CPGA for a brilliant day, to the parents and grandparents for all the loud support, and Geoff for being PA for the day. And to my boat full of chatterboxes, what a fabulous result for a wonderful crew! We can’t wait to see you progress through the winter.

Thanks to Brixham Gig Club for a great day at the CPGA Vets Championships.

A really well run, well organised day at yet another stunning location. The sun shone, the water was flat (after the first heat) and the bacon sandwiches were 🔥

We took 4 crews in total, two women's and two open and we couldn't be happier with our results!

Women's A raced a brilliant final from an outside berth, just missed out on being given the first mark, but stayed hot on Caradons tail for the whole race. A very well deserved 2nd place!

Open A dominated the field, pulling out a lead from halfway down the first leg and gaining the first mark from the outside of their competitors. First mark done and a cruise back in to 1st place!

Women's B had an incredible day, fighting through to land in the B Heat in 5th place and 17th overall! Great racing from this crew!

Open B also made it into the A Final after laying down a blistering time in Round 1 in a super fast heat! They finished 11th overall.

Thank you as always to our incredible sponsors, who help us to keep on top of our training needs, to all of the race officials and organisers and to our lovely hosts for a great day!

Here are a few pics from our big day out!

This Sunday sees our youngest rowers heading to the Under 14 Championships, hosted by . Traditionally held at Copperhouse Pool in Hayle, this year's event has been moved to Stithians Lake due to maintenance work.

With a significant age and experience gap between our Under 14 and Under 16 squads, we're fielding a young and enthusiastic novice crew. Led by 13-year-old Annabelle, who won GOLD rowing with Cadgwith Under 14s at the European Championships, our youngest rower is just 10 years old.

The crew has been working incredibly hard in training and is excited to take on the challenge. Whatever the result, this championship will provide invaluable racing experience and is another important step in what we hope will be a long and enjoyable journey in the sport.

Hayle Pilot Gig Club is also celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, with plenty of extra activities planned throughout the day. If you're free, please come along, support our young rowers, and help Hayle celebrate this special milestone.

0930 coxes meeting, with racing starting immediately afterwards.

Crew: Arthur, Seren, Otto, Annabelle, Quilla and Ula with Jill coxing.

Good luck to our Under 14 crew – we're all behind you!

U16 County Championships 🖤

What a day for our U16s!

Two crews headed up the A39 to represent Falmouth at the 2026 County Championships, and both crews did the club proud.

🖤 Falmouth A cruised through their heat to reach the semi-finals before battling hard in increasingly choppy conditions to finish an impressive 10th overall.

🖤 Falmouth B fought through a tough opening heat to reach the Plate Final, where they produced another incredible final-leg row through to overhaul a strong St Mary’s crew on the Fly Cellars drag and take the win! They finished the day 13th overall and as the 2nd fastest B crew.

We couldn’t be prouder of this group and the way they raced all day. A massive thank you to Jill, Geoff and everyone who helped get these crews to the start line.a massive thanks also to cox Josh TG for helping to get the B Crew race ready and producing some devastatingly perfect buoy turns.

Next up, our U14s take to the water next weekend… go make the Eagle soar! 🦅🖤
