A great day out today. We had a nice trip out to the Veritas which is located just off Coverack in 38m. On the way and whilst providing surface cover we saw some Risso Dolphins ๐Ÿฌ
The divers didn't see an octopus an either wreck! Which is a rareity at the moment. But plenty of other life, wrasse, cuttlefish, lobster, crab.

The Alice Marie is a nice little wreck in Mounts Bay a short distance from St Michaels Mount. The wreck is quite flat, but it supports and ambundance of life, especially conger, lobster and crawfish.

The Hellopes Wreck at around 35m in Mounts Bay.
This is an awesome wreck with some great features, like the smiley robot and giant spartans helmet. But the stern is the real highlight, with the prop, rudder and steering quadrant all still in place.

We'd planned for the Manacles and optimistically headed out across the bay in the hope the swell might not have had the chance to build up yet, but it was soon clear it had ๐Ÿ˜ข. We looked at the options and the divers chose the Hera, I'm starting to think we should have named the boat the 'Hera Runner'. As always the Hera gave the divers a good dive, good viz, plenty of life, (octopus, crawfish, plenty of wrasse of many varieties) and we saw a sun fish on the surface, awesome ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Another great video from Ocean Conservation Trust on the sea grass restoration project.

I particularly like this one as it has me in the background diving ๐Ÿ˜

Back with SCUBA divers today and yes, you guessed it, they chose the Hera ๐Ÿ˜
And why not, it has been brilliant these last few weeks sharing a huge variety of life with us on each visit. Tonight we host divers from Exeter University who were down for a diving safety conference, so what better way to finish the day than a lovely dive in the local area to cool off. I had suggested the Hera as an option as it would cater for most divers interests, even the Maerl researchers found some nice specimens around the wreck site. They all saw some great marine life, octopus, lobster, crawfish, lots of fish, and even a john dory showed up. What was even better was this was one of the divers 6th or 7th UK dive and all the others had been horrible viz, so really pleased we were able to give them 6-8m and show what great diving we have here in Cornwall. Hope to see you all again soon.
