Balance Aikido Aikido dojo in Falkirk. Run by Ricky Craig, 5th Dan It concentrates on the avoidance of conflict and getting out of the way of an attack.

Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art with a strong focus on personal growth, harmony and self-defence. The most fundamental principle is that you don’t get hit. It is often described as one of the most subtle and sophisticated of the martial arts. Aikido can have great benefits to your flexibility, balance, co-ordination, fitness and general health. Due to the nature of Aikido and its

use of body movement and technique, it may be practiced by anyone - regardless of physique, age, gender or fitness level. We use our attacker's strength and aggression against them, with techniques mainly consisting of throws and joint locks. We focus mainly on the unarmed aspects of Aikido, augmented by weapons training, as many of Aikido's techniques are derived from use of the sword. Run by Ricky Craig, 5th Dan

Ricky has been training in aikido since 1997. Favouring a circular, practical style with a strong emphasis on not being hit. Membership includes costs of insurance, affiliation, and mat time. Class fees are £5 per session

Hi folks,

it's with sadness that I have to announce we will only have two more classes for the foreseeable future.

There will be training tonight (18/10/22) and next Tuesday (25/10/22). After that, training at Balance Aikido will be on hold.

It's hoped that we can revive the classes in the future, but this will depend on a number of factors resolving themselves.

Thank you all for your support over the years, I hope we can train again in the near future.
