Through the Players Eyes - with Glen Burt 👀

This week, Glen gives us his view from inside the game…

The first half was a tough one. We created a few opportunities, but a massive part of keeping ourselves in the game was Paul in goals. He stepped up when we needed him and pulled off some huge saves at important moments.

In the second half, I felt we started to take more control of the game. Defensively, we stayed solid, kept the clean sheet intact and continued putting pressure on them until we eventually got our reward.

There were big performances all over the park.

Paul deserves a massive shout-out. At times, he genuinely kept us in the game.

Jay kept battling away despite being outnumbered for large parts of the match and never stopped working.

The defence were consistent throughout. Scott’s reading of the game and positioning were outstanding and helped him win so many of his battles. Chris timed his tackles brilliantly, while Sam read the game well and kept looking to get us moving forward.

The boys in the middle worked tirelessly, trying to win the ball and get us playing. When we managed to get it down, the first touch and awareness around the pitch were excellent.

Shaun worked with determination all game and was always available as an outlet, giving us that threat going forward.

For the goal, it was brilliant to be involved myself and get the assist. We’d kept the pressure on, I managed to create the opportunity and Craig finished it off, scoring from exactly the kind of situation we’d worked on in training during the week. Seeing something we’d practised come off in the game made it even better.

Overall, it felt like a proper team performance. We had to dig in at times, stay organised and keep believing. Everyone played their part and we got our reward in the end.

A fantastic performance from our captain, Katie, who led by example from start to finish. She worked tirelessly to organise and support those around her, constantly communicating and encouraging the team to stay positive and focused.

Katie battled hard for every ball, broke up play, looked to play positive passes and showed great determination throughout. Most importantly, she continued to encourage the team to believe in themselves, keep playing positive football and stay focused on our own team goals.

A well-deserved Player of the Match performance; fantastic leadership, commitment and character. Well done, Katie! 👏

Evening Huskies! 🐺

Last night we brought our Scottish FA Grassroots Award along to our free football sessions so the kids could have their photos taken with the trophy.

It was great to see all the different groups getting involved, and it felt really fitting to have the trophy there with the players who are at the heart of what we do 💙

A massive thank you to all the players and parents who turn up week after week, support the sessions and help make them such a success. It’s because of your continued support that we’ve now been able to provide free football to over 1,000 kids.

This award is a reflection of everyone who makes these sessions possible; our coaches, players, parents and everyone who has supported us along the way.

🏆WE’VE WON! 🏆

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we have won the Scottish FA Grassroots Central Region Award for Best Community Football for All Project for our free football sessions!

What makes this award even more special is knowing that, through our sessions, we’ve now provided free football to over 1,000 children in the Falkirk area ❤️

Our aim has always been simple, to give every child the opportunity to enjoy football, regardless of their circumstances. To see how far the project has come is something we’re incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing coaches who give up their time, and to everyone who has helped, supported and contributed along the way. This award belongs to all of you. 👏

Juliette has made an instant impact since joining this year and this month she has really come into her own.

At training, she is focused, determined and plays with an intensity that she carries into game day. Her performances have been consistently high, while she also brings a great attitude and positive energy to the team.

Juliette has been a fantastic addition to the squad and absolutely deserves Player of the Month for August. A thoroughly deserved award. Congratulations, Juliette! 👏

🏆 Player of the Month - August 🏆

Paul has been outstanding this month and fully deserves Player of the Month.

He’s been excellent at the back in both league games, scoring in both, while also stepping up in goals during the friendly and doing really well. He never shies away from what’s asked of him and always gives 100%.

Paul has also been working incredibly hard on his fitness to make sure he’s in the best shape possible to help the team. He genuinely doesn’t get enough credit for all he does. A thoroughly deserved award, congratulations, Paul! 👏
