Going Out Group Ladies, Exmouth

Going Out Group Ladies, Exmouth We are a group of ladies who enjoy going out but often find ourselves going out alone. Rather than go alone, do you not go at all? Easy peasy!

Not because we are sad muppets with no friends, but because our friends or partners might not enjoy going to the type of events that we like to attend. Do you ever find yourself wanting to go to see a show, film, ballet but no-one wants to go with you? There are many of us in that situation. So this forum is about getting us all together for a bit of company. There is no age limit, no membership fee, no application procedure, no commitment to attend a certain number of events, no obligation to arrange an event yourself. Just have a look to see if anyone is going to anything that you might like to join in with, or pop the details of the event you wish to go to on here and wait to see if anyone would like to join you. Then sort out travel, meeting points, ticket purchase amongst those attending and away you go.

UPDATE - Thanks for your responses. We will stick with the Bath House.

We have Just Drinks tomorrow, 7.30pm, at the Bath House on the seafront. Gillian has just made me aware that the Bath House has an Open Mic evening tomorrow. Thanks Gillian.

Is anyone going tomorrow? I see it's only me with 11 interested at the moment, but it's always a nice surprise to see who comes along. If anyone is going, what do you think? Do we want to listen in on the Open Mic or do you want to go to a different venue?

The Bath House has very kindly offered us use of their function room upstairs if we don't want be near the music, but we might be lost in there if there's only say, six, of us.

Let me know your thoughts please.

Thanks to Marianne for arranging our trip to Seaton Tramway yesterday, Saturday 5th September. It was, for the most part, a wonderful day, and it was certainly a memorable one with several stories to tell.

Sadly it ended at our halfway point in Colyton with Marianne being taken to RD&E in an ambulance. As you know, she is a strong and resilient lady and went home later that evening.

Marianne will be at the coffee morning at the Railway Club as normal on Monday and will tell you more about her experience then.

Here are a few of the ladies' photos, thanks ladies. x

Autumn is coming, it must be time for a muddy walk in Lee Ford Woods to see the golden leaves. This walk is just under two miles and will take about an hour.

Saturday 10th October, 10.15 from Castle Lane.

10.00 157 Sidmouth bus to the Salterton Road/Castle Lane stop just past the Tip or, if driving, park in Castle Lane. Walk along the cycle track to the Dalditch Lane path, then left up through Lee Ford Woods, past the Forest School. This is where there's usually a muddy patch for about 8 ft so you will need walking boots or wellies. Then we cross the Knowle Hill Road to the woods next to the Tip, then down the hill back to Castle Lane.

We then have the option of walking down the back path to Oakbarn for coffee for those who want to.

Calling all foodies, walkers and ladies who enjoy a potentially choppy ferry ride.

We're going to Powderham Food Festival on Sunday 4th October. It's open from 10am to 5pm, tickets are £5.50 if booked in advance or £7.50 on the gate. The Castle will be open (Jenny 😁) and entry is included in the ticket price. If you would like to come and book in advance, please purchase your own ticket via the Powderham link below.

We are hoping to travel by ferry from Exmouth Marina to Starcross then walk to Powderham. The first ferry from Exmouth is 10.40 and we will need to join the queue by about 10.20. The ferry timings depend on the tide. If the ferry doesn't work, we can get the train.

So, who's coming? 😎

It's official — tickets for Powderham Food Festival 2026 are ON SALE.

Join us in the grounds of Powderham Castle, the home of Devon, on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th October for one of the tastiest weekends of the year. Local food, drinks, crafts, chef demos, live music and family fun — all with the castle as your backdrop.

Book online now for just £5.50 and save £2 on the gate price. Under-16s go free, dogs are welcome and parking is free.

Don't forget we have Marianne's Seaton Tramway trip tomorrow, Saturday 5th September. Marianne is getting the 10.00 157 Sidmouth bus from outside Scott Cinema. Angela is getting on the same bus (hopefully!) on Salterton Road by Lidl.

Jill, Angela and Lilly didn't let a bit of rain stop them. It was pleasant walk. Thanks for your company Jill.

Does anyone fancy getting their waterproof coat wet tomorrow morning?

Jill and Angela are doing the Littleham Church Path walk that was in the One Magazine last month. It's only 2.2 miles and doesn't actually get to Littleham Church.

You'll need to get yourself to the Links Road in Budleigh Salterton by 10.15am where we will start and finish the walk.

Please let Angela know if you'd like to go so we can look out for you there.

Hi ladies,

Who's going on Marianne's trip to Seaton Tramway on Saturday 5th September? I'm hoping to if it's not too hot for my dog. Lilly is excited to be going on the tram. I haven't told her yet that dogs aren't allow upstairs🤫.

Marianne will provide us with full details nearer the time but I think we're leaving Exmouth around 10am for the bus to Sidmouth where we change at The Triangle for the Seaton Bus.

The Coffee Morning at the Railway Club will go ahead as normal from 11am on bank holiday Monday.
