Exmouth Pétanque - boules / petanque June 2026: Exmouth Petanque now has a terrain!!! Come and have a go / discuss membership. Would you like a petanque area in Exmouth to play boules?

With explicit permission, Imperial Hotel allow us play on; Saturdays 10.30 - Noon; Wednesdays 5 - 7pm (April - October); Exmouth U3A group play on Friday mornings. Currently playing on the Imperial Hotel gravel paths near the clock tower: Saturday mornings 10:30 - noon all year around; Wednesday evenings 17:00 - 19:00 ish, April - October weather / light permitting. Please register your interest by LIKING and SHARING this page. Who knows, we might even get it into the Neighbourhood Plan! Petanque is a very inclusive game - open to all ages and abilities. Although making a 'terrain' could cost a few thousand pounds - it would be relatively easy to maintain - and a great community asset, IMHO. Things to discuss: location (Strand, seafront, Phear Park..?); size (single lane, ~15m square like Topsham, Salcombe Regis, etc); tbc...

Well, after nearly 10 years of playing on various paths and car-parks around Exmouth, we now have our own terrain / pitch / piste / court!
Many thanks to The Imperial Hotel for allowing us to build this. We've been playing on their gravel paths for 4 years this month, but after some fundraising (thanks to Exmouth Petanque Club, U3A group, etc) and much mental / physical work from various individuals (you know who you are!) we've done it.
A little rain, rolling, whacking and top-dressing still needed, but it's 99% complete 😁😁😁🪩🪩🪩

Probably not today then! You'd need a very dense coche / jack too! Sandblasting down here...
