We’re nearly at the end of my 5th year of running RADF as my own company, with me at the helm of everything. 😅 I’m going to start with THANK YOU! Without people coming to classes and putting their believe in what I do, it’s unlikely I’d still be able to run the classes that bring lots of children so much joy. 💚
There have been so many things that I’ve done during these 5 years that have only been possible with people coming each week, and it really is amazing. There’s been highs, and lows, and mistakes along the way but it definitely remains as the highlight of my week being able to teach everyone.
These years have taught me so many things like;
- Not posting on Social Media for the start of the year just makes it harder to start again (2026 looking at you 👀)
- Separating you and the business so you can enjoy rest time (2024)
- Not everything is a success (2024)
- Taking a leap to make things easier can work in everyone’s favour (2021)
- If it upsets you to think about letting it go, it’s not time yet (2025/26)
One of the biggest things I’ve learnt though is that one person alone can’t shape and make a business. What I thought my ‘dream’ dance school was, is probably a disaster that can’t really sustain itself. Instead it’s become a small community of children who want to come in with loads of energy each week and learn something new. I’ve been trying to understand recently how to describe the dance school and have tried to distill it down to help others who want to join us understand what we’re about.
I’ve come up with this;
😍 Smile
✨ Shine
💚 Support
I hope you all agree that these values are something that come across when thinking about the school.
5 years has been such a long time, there’s even a few of you who have been coming for all of it! I honestly would love to know some of your highlights from RADF over the years. We’ve had street dance dinosaurs, photo shoot days, summer camps, performances, picnics, award nights… and more. 💚
