AUTUMN PLEASURE RIDE – Sunday 11 October 2026

Join us for a relaxed, scenic ride through beautiful East Devon, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this autumn!

Choose from 5km or 10km fully marked routes, with checkpoints along the way, choose your start between 10:00–12:00. Halloween Fancy Dress optional.

Starting from Bicton Arena, East Devon. EX9 7BL.

Every entry includes a Bacon Bap and Tea/Coffee from Big Birds Baps — the perfect post‑ride treat!

A lovely sunny 🌞 day for our last show of the season today. Thank you to everyone who came along to both the horse and dog show.
Lots of winners today so we need to restock our rosette cupboard!
Well done for beautifully turned out horses and some very smart riders and handlers 👏👏
Some lovely handling and riding in the working horsemanship ring, challenging for both horses and riders with some very good scores 👏 👏

Also a big thank you for your understanding about the hard ground avoiding injuries to our horses and for checking passports, we appreciate the positive feedback that we've had for this 😀

Our Good Horsemanship ring is fully set up and ready to go.

• £5 ‘Have‑a‑Go’ Option — perfect for anyone who wants to try it without competing.
• For those who want to compete, we have our Good Horsemanship competition rosettes ready.

Two competition classes:
• In‑Hand
• Ridden

Helene will be scoring both classes, and we’ll announce results before lunch.

On‑the‑day entry: £7 for In‑Hand or Ridden.

Don't forget about our Fun Dog Show starting at 11am.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR HORSES PASSPORT. We need to make sure that horses are up to date with equine flu vaccinations, thank you for your understanding.

Our lovely Helene Hewitt has designed a great working horsemanship ring as an alternative to jumping because the ground is still very hard.
There are various challenging exercises to do with your horse, either in hand or ridden. You can just 'have a go' or join the competition for either in hand or ridden marks.
The ring is open in the morning with the winners being announced at lunchtime so they can collect their rosettes.
Please come along, have a go and have some fun with your horse!

Pony/horse any height, competitor any age, unless otherwise stated. May be led.
Classes may be split at the Judge’s discretion.
Ridden classes will be required to give a short individual show. This should consist of walk and trot (except for lead rein) on both reins and ideally last no more than 2-3 minutes.
