Some rain is better than none, although I was living in Exeter in 1976 I can't imagine it was as low as this back then, I've fished the Teign for over 30 years and I've never seen it so low.
The rain last night, as expected, didn't make any significant difference, just 5cm.
Hopefully things improve soon, the fish are really struggling at the moment.
I haven't cast a line since June!

The last few days of my Website, it's so difficult to let go but time moves on. Retirement is looming, I'm not taking on anymore clients after this season, but all gift vouchers will be honored, any existing clients feel free to contact me next season.
I've really enjoyed my years teaching and guiding, I've met some great people.
Started fly fishing in the 70's, thanks .simon_m
and my late friend Roddy Rae who introduced me to the guiding and instruction world

Please keep sending me your photos!
I'm not much of a social media guy but I will post updates on the fly fishing.....when we can fish!

All the best Richard, The Devon Flyfisher

Raining nicely to bring in the Sea Trout, so I thought time to tie up a couple of flies for Kennick. The one in the vice is a copy of what another angler gave us, Grafham killer?
The others my very simple fly to tempt the Beatle eating trout Trout Fishing South West Lakes Trust

Hope this season doesn't turn out like last year as it's a pattern that won't be welcome, but might be something we have to start to get used too😢

I was just visiting Kennick reservoir today, a few fishermen around and the young chap in the video was doing really well, landed a stunning fish using a damsel fly just sub surface, plenty of surface activity and a good hatch of Hawthorn and Alder flies.

Looking a bit lifeless fish wise on the river on the opening day, I didn't get to fish but things will change quickly once it starts to warm up.
