The ☀️ is shining… the teams are ready… and the new DGFL season is here! ⚽️🙌

From all of us on the DGFL Committee, we want to wish every single team, player, coach, volunteer, referee and spectator the very best of luck for your first league match of the season! 👏

Football is a game where we all go out to win… but today, and throughout the season, take a moment to reflect on what “winning” means to you and your team.

🏆 Is it the scoreline?
💪 Is it giving everything you have?
😊 Is it seeing a player grow in confidence?
🤝 Is it supporting a teammate?
❤️ Is it simply enjoying being out on the pitch?

There will be teams this season who may struggle with results. For them, winning might look very different.

👉 Please support those teams.

We also have lots of brand-new teams stepping onto the pitch today, so let’s make sure they feel welcomed and supported as they begin their DGFL journey. 💜

⚽️ MATCH DAY READY!
Please make sure your team is fully prepared — including checking jewellery. Earrings must be removed, or studs securely taped where permitted by the Laws of the Game.

Our league leads with respect and positivity, and we ask that every player, coach, team official and spectator helps us uphold these values throughout the season.

⚽️💜🖤🤍 What a fantastic way to start their first league game! ⚽️

Playing at Devon FA as part of Fair Play Fridays, our league was delighted to host the first event of the season, with Watcombe Wanderers and Newton Town taking part.

These Fair Play selected matches are all about promoting positive attitudes, respect and good sporting behaviour — and we hope they inspire others throughout the season to do the same. 👏

Great to see our Rep Squads for the 26-27 season start training this week. Always good to see some new faces joining as well as welcoming back our returning players.

Also proud to see several players from our program starting new opportunities with Devon, Exeter City & Plymouth Argyle this season. We wish Clara & Ella (U12s); Beth, Imogen & Rose (U14s) & Carys, Flick, Maia & Maria (U16s) all the best for the season ahead. You’ll be missed, but we’re delighted to have supported your development to go on and smash your next challenges 💪

Four age groups, clubs from across Devon and plenty of interesting ties waiting to be drawn.
