Since joining Stronger Together at the end of December, Jo has been a brilliant example of what can be achieved when you focus on what you can do rather than what you can’t.
After suffering a Grade 2 MCL tear in her knee last year, many people would have been nervous about getting back to training. Instead, Jo has been patient, consistent and committed to rebuilding her strength while continuing to improve her fitness.
The progress she’s made has been incredible:
🔥 90kg Deadlift
🔥 50kg Back Squat
🔥 70kg Barbell Hip Thrust for 10 reps
🔥 27.5kg Strict Press
🔥 30kg Barbell Lunges for 20 reps
🔥 200kg+ Sled Push
Jo is also responsible for the fastest Farmers Carry time of any Stronger Together client to date, covering 200 metres in just 1 minute 24 seconds over 10-metre shuttle lengths. That’s seriously impressive and shows just how fit and determined she is. ⚡
Away from the gym, Jo is an extremely talented runner with a Half Marathon PB of 1:33. As her rehabilitation has progressed, her running performances have continued to improve, and at the weekend she represented Devon and helped them secure victory over Cornwall.
What I admire most about Jo isn’t the numbers though.
It’s her attitude.
She turns up, works hard, gets stuck in, supports everyone around her and always brings plenty of laughs to coaching sessions. She’s resilient, positive and a pleasure to coach.
Considering everything she’s achieved while recovering from a significant knee injury, it’s exciting to think about what she’ll be capable of once she’s fully fit and firing on all cylinders.
Keep up the fantastic work, Jo 👏💪
