Studley v Littletons Pickleball -- Match Report
What an interesting morning! Despite gusty winds and chilly conditions, spirits were high and everyone was ready for some great pickleball. With makeshift court lines adding an extra challenge, a variety of matches were played, resulting in an overall victory for Littletons -- well done team! 🎉
Richard F and Julia claimed the mixed doubles title, while Vanessa and Este secured a strong win in the women's doubles. The men's matches were closely contested, with the Studley pairs edging through to the final stages.
Instead of replaying the women's final, we opted for an exciting crossover match, with Vanessa and Este taking on the men's winners after Jan and Iryna had defeated the runners-up. It was a thrilling contest, with Littletons players watching every serve with anticipation. In the end, the men just managed to clinch the two extra points needed to take the win.
A huge thank you to all players for braving the elements and demonstrating the fantastic club spirit that makes these events so enjoyable. We look forward to inviting Studley back for a rematch soon.
Days like this certainly remind us how lucky we are with our own facilities -- and how exciting it will be when our new courts are completed! 🙌
