Ethic update!

The final production designs have been finished and handed over to our factory in Taiwan, and we ordered the production drivetrains from Shimano back in April (yes, before we'd even seen the prototype frames). We're still waiting on Shimano to confirm the parts delivery date, but it's looking like a 2023 launch now (we had originally planned for mid 2022).

In the meantime I'm currently writing the story of how Ethic came about and the stages of development the bike went through to get in into a finished, production frame. It's quite a long read due to the unique features of the frame and my approach to E-bike design.

There's going to be a Q&A section, which is where you come in! Please comment below with your questions for me (Dan, Bird and Ethic designer), and i'll do my best to answer your questions in the article that i'm writing. I'll also try to answer your questions here on social too.

Photo is the Ethic at the end of August, before it had been ridden and still missing some parts while our 3D printers worked their magic.

Big day on the prototypes with today. Funnily enough he was blown away by the bike.

He was riding with a mullet setup and a nice wide 2.8 rear tyre. Combine that with the pivot point and the fact it has a motor; some may say it's the nexus of all things good 😉
