Felt a bit all over the place at the start and took more shots than Iโ€™d have liked.โ €

Big respect to my opponent Jake for taking the fight, top lad and itโ€™s never easy getting in that ring. โ €

It wasnโ€™t just about the fight for me this but more setting myself a goal and seeing it through, the training and also the people you meet along the way.โ €

Nothing exposes true character and makes you face the truth quite like combat sports and itโ€™s why Iโ€™ve always loved them. โ €

Been good to get fully back in to a solid training routine the last couple of weeks.โ €

Had a s**t couple of months with the after effects of a chest infection thatโ€™s made any form of cardio very difficult. โ €
โ €
Adding this to persistent niggles and injuries has been frustrating and itโ€™s hard to see past at times when you just want to train hard. โ €
โ €
I still continued to train because nothing positive ever comes from doing nothing and making excuses.โ €
โ €
This week Iโ€™ve pushed things a lot more as itโ€™s been the first week back to feeling 100%.โ €
โ €
Iโ€™ve trained 9 times over the last 6 days with today being a rest day. โ €
โ €
Iโ€™ve not forced anything and always listen to my body, being open to a rest day if I feel I need it. โ €
โ €
To support this Iโ€™ve had to step things up with my recovery as well. โ €
โ €
This has included;โ €
โ €
๐Ÿง–๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ 3 saunas โ €
โ €
๐Ÿฅ— Quality nutrition - calories, protein, nutrient density โ €
โ €
๐Ÿ’ฆ Hydration - 3-4 litres per day minimum with electrolytesโ €
โ €
๐Ÿ’ค Sleep - 7-8 hours minimum per nightโ €
โ €
The point worth making is that unless youโ€™re a professional athlete then thereโ€™s absolutely f**k all chance that youโ€™re overtrained. โ €
โ €
Youโ€™re just under recovered and likely havenโ€™t been making yourself a priority.โ €
โ €
Youโ€™re capable of a lot more than you think providing you control the environment in which youโ€™re doing it.โ €

Limiting alcohol and minimising exposure to anything that causes you stress is also massively important.โ €

โŒ Eating 6 x per day to speed up your metabolism โ €โ €

โŒ The belief that you canโ€™t get lean whilst eating certain foods โ €โ €

โŒ Walking on a treadmill and calling it cardioโ €

Probably one of the best decisions Iโ€™ve made was to come back working here.โ €
โ €
I started again with no in person clients and have probably experienced the fastest growth in my business since the day I started over 10 years ago. โ €
โ €
Working with people again on the gym floor has made me realise just how much Iโ€™ve missed it. โ €
โ €
I am currently working with a great bunch of clients who are all making amazing progress. โ €
โ €
Which makes me realise how lucky I am to do something I genuinely love doing for a living. โ €
โ €
