So we all thought the skatepark was closed due to Lockdown 2.0? Well yes and no. Yes due to the recent Lockdown restrictions Skateboard England released all indoor and outdoor skateparks must close until the 5th November 2020. However the current closure is also due to the continual vandalism to the floodlight system, which is costing Euxton Parish Council in the regions of £100 for each repair!
Please be reminded repeat vandalisim is likely to cause an extended closure and could also result in the closure of the skatepark during winter months due to the floodlights being out of action.
Remember, the council continue to support the local community and OUR skatepark, please show some gratitude for the work they do to maintain and enhance OUR facility, which we get to use all year round. We need the lights even more so at this time of year! Also whilst the the park is currently closed, EPC are carrying out general maintenance on the park and repairing the weather damaged car park.
On a lighter note, good news the park is due to re-open on the 2nd December following the recent updates from the UK Government.
Please look after OUR skatepark, use the bins, respect the neighbours and report any vandalism. Look forward to a session on the 2nd!
