Well what can I say other than…. “What a day!!”

Thought I’d run through what went on during what is now officially my ‘Bounce back Rally of the year’ so far. From the Worst start to Best finish 🤯

Seeded 11th for the Hereos Junior Rally 2026 at Weeton out of 22 Juniors I was excited to see what I could do to secure some more experience and all important points for the championship.

We lined up at the start ready to go for Stage 1 one of the Marshalls thankfully saw that I had forgotten to put my HANS device on which is a legal requirement for me to race! How we missed it we don’t know, I quickly got it on but just had to start a little later than I was originally seeded. Thankful to the Marshalls for checking and for also allowing me to start again once I was ready.

Unfortunately this had played in my head slightly and I made some silly mistakes on stage 1 sliding about and loosing time. It was what it was, we got round and got back to service where we changed the set up of the car to suit the track.

Stage 2 (re-run of stage 1) I now knew the track and had cleared my head from stage 1. The car was much better set up and we shaved off 33 seconds. Unfortunately I had dropped to 18th due to Stage 1 so now it was a battle to climb as many places as I could.

We approached each round with the same thoughts, attack but bring the car back and that’s exactly what we did.

After just Stage 3 we’d climbed to 13th which wasn’t something I thought could be done straight away due to there being some really good drivers on track.

Stage 4 saw us just building more and more, we finished joint 12th (although still listed as 13th) and had the 9th fastest stage time. I was so shocked, I knew we were running well but from such a dramatic start to this felt awesome.

Everything was going well until we hit a slippery square right on Stage 7 bashing straight into one of the notorious curbs. The car stalled but I quickly got it going ahead and limped it over the finish line hoping it can be fixed within the short service time we had. We didn’t know what damaged had been done but luckily it was only a bottom arm, so a huge thank you to Anthony for working so quickly to get us back out ready for Stage 8. I honestly thought we were going to miss it.

Stage 8 was without any issues and Stage 9 we ran really well securing 6th fastest lap! My best achievement so far since starting to compete, I was so happy.

Stage 10 we ran really well, nice and tidy but quick. Bought the car home in one piece like Mum and Dad asked but secured 8th position overall. It felt amazing!

Given how the morning started I could not imagine coming 8th but a massive thank you to for preparing and servicing my car so we could achieve this result.

Also another thank you to Alan Edwards for trusting me as such a new driver and sitting in with me so I could attend this event as my usual Co-Driver had prior commitments back in Ireland. Good teamwork on this tough round!

Obviously a huge thank you to the Organisers of the Rally, the Marshalls for giving up their time and ensuring were all safe and to the F1000 Rally Club for having us.

I am so grateful to my parents for making my dreams a reality with being able to compete, giving up their time and efforts to let me do this. Thank you so much…. Looks like I’m doing chores for a few days now 😂

From an 8-year-old with a driving voucher… to 12th overall on his second ever rally. 🏁❤️

Jay first discovered our junior driving lessons when he came along with his mum for her rally experience. At just 8 years old, he received his first voucher… and that was where it all started.

Since then, he’s trained with us, attended camp days, joined us at rallies, become part of the Langley Park family and always been ready to get stuck in.

This weekend, running against far more experienced juniors, some 17 years old, and in hot conditions, Jay finished a very respectable 12th overall.

The car ran faultlessly, his times got quicker throughout the day and, most importantly, he listened, learned and put the advice he was given into practice.

This is what junior progression means to us.

From first driving lessons to competing in rallying.

We couldn’t be prouder to be part of Jay’s journey.

Second ever rally. 12th overall. And plenty more to come

Thank you to everyone including F1000 Rally Club and Junior Rally Scotland for hosting a brilliant event this weekend and thank you to my crew for helping me climb to 12th against the Scottish championship, this was so much fun and a lot of hard work😅

Day 1 of my first time at the Mach 1 stages and my second ever event 🙌🏻 from 19th up to 13th even with a couple of mistakes I’m happy.
Back out again tomorrow for all important points for the F1000 Rally Club championship.
So after a team meeting we decided on a few changes to the set up of the car in the morning excited to get back out.

Co-Driver secured now thank you all 🤩

Looking for a Co-Driver to sit in with me for the Hero’s stages August 1st as my Co-Driver is unavailable.
I am new to the championship but have been training since I was 10, secured 10th place on my first Rally at Kath Curzon after seeding 20th and hoping to get to all remaining rallies this year scoring valuable points in the championship.
