🐴 LOAN OPPORTUNITY – SHIRLEY 🐴

We have a lovely opportunity for the right rider to loan Shirley, a 7-year-old mare standing at 14.3hh.

Shirley is a green mare, so we are looking for a confident rider, preferably a young adult, who has experience working with and developing young horses. Due to her size and type, there is a 10 stone weight limit.

The loan would be for 3 months, with Shirley remaining at her current yard. There is the option to ride once or twice a week, with the loan focusing on schooling and flatwork only. A contract will be in place for the duration of the loan.

All potential riders will have an assessment lesson with one of our instructors before being matched with Shirley, ensuring that the partnership is suitable for both horse and rider.

There are also some great benefits to being based at the yard, including discounted lessons, fully qualified instructors onsite for support and guidance when needed, and the school available to hire.

This could be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience and confidence while developing a young horse with support around them.

⭐️ New instructor ⭐️

Freya is a 19-year-old equestrian with a passion for helping riders better understand their horses under saddle. For the past three years, she has been studying at an equine college, gaining extensive knowledge in all aspects of horse care, management, and riding. She owns four horses of her own and aspires to compete in eventing with her main horse in the future.

Freya has been kindly offered the opportunity by Romy to complete her coaching qualifications at Priory Place Equestrian. She is excited to begin coaching and looks forward to sharing her knowledge, building riders’ confidence, and helping both horse and rider develop together.

Ever wondered what it’s like to own your own pony? Come along and experience a morning of hands-on horse care while learning all about looking after your equine friend!

During the session you’ll take part in:
🐴 Mucking out
🛁 Bathing
✨ Grooming
🌿 Turning out
🌾 Making haynets
🧽 Tack cleaning
🥕 Feeding and watering

You’ll also enjoy educational talks covering horse care, health, welfare, and daily management, giving you a real insight into responsible pony ownership.

Hacking Loan Opportunity – Charlie 🩶

Meet Charlie, a handsome 12-year-old, 16.1hh grey gelding with the sweetest nature. He’s a real gentleman who absolutely loves to hack. Charlie is a big softie who enjoys plenty of fuss, grooming, and pampering, making him a pleasure to spend time with both on and off the ground. Charlie is looking for a confident relaxed rider to enjoy his hacking trips.

We are lucky to have some fantastic hacking right on our doorstep, including The Flitch Way and the beautiful river routes around Priory, making this the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys relaxed, scenic rides.

Loan Details

• 1 or 2 weekdays available (Monday–Friday only)
• No weekends
• Charlie must remain at our yard

Charlie is kept on full livery, so there are no yard duties. If your riding time overlaps with the yard routine, you may simply need to bring him in from the field.

As part of the loan, you’ll be expected to:

• Groom Charlie thoroughly before and after riding
• Pick out his feet before and after riding
• Store tack safely and correctly, cleaning it when required
• Provide appropriate aftercare depending on the weather, such as using a cooler rug after exercise or hosing/sponging him off in warmer months before putting on a cooler

The loan contribution will go towards Charlie’s feed, hay, bedding, and general yard costs.

There are no hidden costs, with the exception of lessons with our yard coaches if required. A loan contract will be in place for everyone’s peace of mind.

Buddy is a 13.1hh grey pony with a cheeky personality and plenty of character! He’s a fun little all-rounder who enjoys jumping, schooling, and hacking, making him a great partner for someone looking to ride regularly.

🐴 Loan Available

* 1 or 2 weekdays per week (no weekends)
* Must stay at our yard
* Rider must be able to walk, trot, and canter confidently.

The loan contribution helps towards Buddy’s feed, hay, bedding, and general staff costs.

✨ What’s Included?

* Buddy is kept on full livery, so there are no yard duties.
* If your riding time overlaps with yard routines, you may be asked to bring him in from the field.
* Loaners are expected to:
* Groom Buddy thoroughly before and after riding.
* Pick out his feet before and after riding.
* Store tack safely and correctly, cleaning it when required.
* Provide appropriate aftercare, such as using a cooler rug or hosing/sponging him off in warmer weather.

Join us for a fun-filled morning that’s suitable for all ages and abilities – from complete beginners to more advanced riders! Expect plenty of laughter, exciting challenges, and fantastic riding.

🐴 What’s Included

Each round will feature:

● Jumping, starting over a cross pole before progressing through grid work.
● An exciting unmounted challenge where you’ll:
● Dismount and run to ring the bell.
● Grab and put on a high-vis vest.
● Race back through an obstacle course before continuing.

Class Times

8:00am – Pole Class
9:00am – 40–50cm
10:00am – 50–60cm
11:00am – 60–70cm
