London Stars CC produced another impressive all-round performance to secure a fantastic 121-run victory over Stallions CC.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Stars found themselves in serious trouble early on. The batting order suffered a dramatic collapse, and at one stage it looked as though the Stars might be bowled out before reaching the 100-run mark.
However, the lower order showed tremendous character and resilience. M. Uddin and W. Arshad battled hard to contribute valuable 20-plus scores and helped steady the innings. The biggest surprise came from S. Chowdhury, who produced a brilliant maiden half-century when his team needed it most. He was well supported by A. Mujed, who remained unbeaten on 17.
The final-wicket partnership proved to be the turning point of the innings, adding more than 50 crucial runs and lifting London Stars to a competitive 228 runs.
With 229 required for victory, the Stars’ bowling attack came out firing. J. Soroar produced a sensational opening spell, claiming four early wickets before Stallions CC had even reached 50 runs. He continued his outstanding performance to finish with his second five-wicket haul of the season, putting the opposition under relentless pressure.
S. Singh also played a vital role with the ball, picking up two important wickets and helping London Stars complete a dominant bowling performance. Stallions CC were eventually bowled out, giving the Stars a commanding 121-run victory.
It was a truly special match for London Stars, as we were delighted to see two well-deserved Man of the Match performances from S. Chowdhury and J. Soroar. Both players made decisive contributions with bat and ball and undoubtedly earned the recognition.
Another victory, another memorable performance, and another reminder of the fighting spirit within London Stars.
