Our village hall has been the heart of this community for generations. The place where kids learn to dance, neighbours become friends, and every big moment gets celebrated.

But great facilities don't promote themselves. We need someone who already knows their way around a campaign to help us shout about what we've got; so the next generation inherits something worth having.

2 hours a month. Your skills. Your village. Your legacy.

The trustees of Escrick and Deighton Village Hall (registered charity number 502952) hereby give notice that a General Meeting of the charity will be held on Tuesday 16th June, 2026, commencing at 20:30 at Escrick and Deighton Village Hall, Main St, Escrick YO19 6LQ.

All inhabitants of Escrick Parish, of 18 years of age and upwards, are entitled to attend and vote at the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is to approve a special resolution to give the trustees the powers to transfer the assets and liabilities to a new incorporated charity with the same or similar objects. More details about the proposed change can be found at www.escrickvillagehall.com/cio/

💃 Ceilidh Evening 💃

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our SOLD OUT ceilidh event at the weekend. The atmosphere was fantastic and we hope you all had a “reel-y” great time! These events help to raise funds to support the upkeep and improvement of our hall, so we’re really grateful ❤️

To simplify the operation of the village hall, we're proposing to change the type of charity entity that we operate as.
It's very much a technical change, and shouldn't impact on the day to day running and use of the hall. But, we're required seek views of Escrick's residents on the change - so please see the notice below. Excuse the legalise, it's a template we've been advised to use.

The trustees of Escrick and Deighton Village Hall (registered charity number 502952) hereby give notice that they propose to transfer the land and property held on trust for the purposes of Escrick and Village Hall to a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) to be called Escrick and Deighton Village Hall CIO (registered charity number 1215244), which has been formed for the purpose of transferring the ownership and management of Escrick and Deighton Village Hall to a charity which benefits from incorporation.

All are welcome to come along to this fundraiser to support a local Fulford guide group (attended by lots of the girls from the village) to fundraise for an international volunteering event they are hoping to attend in Malta. There will be a quiz, stalls and lots of lovely home baking!
