An absolutely fabulous ride today. Very varied and of interest to those of you who are looking for off road/traffic free riding for the kids - I found a gem. How I've never ridden through here before I just don't know. The entire route is superb but the hidden gem for child friendly off road cycling is the loop around Panshanger Park.

£2.80 to park in the car park off Thieves Lane and you have a loop of bridleway that is mainly hard packed gravel. Some hills but nothing too challenging - some downhills where you might want to advise caution in terms of speed, but an absolutely beautiful park.

A must visit cycle location for kids.

Easily links to the Cole Green Way - only downside is the crossing of the a414 but with patience it is easily negotiated.
