Cavan Interclub League- Round 7

Thursday evening saw Round 7, the penultimate round of the Cavan Interclub League Scratch Race hosted by Moynalty Cycling club, on their 24 mile Mullagh circuit.

Race Report
Another very successful evenings racing for Team LCC. We secured 2 podium positions, across the 2 races !

A Race
Group 2 had a 1 minute 19 second time gap over Group 1 at the start, group 1 worked poorly this week and couldn't catch a cold cycling naked in winter never mind catch the energetic group 2 😳😂!!, so our Aidy Reihill seized his opportunity with a spectacular sprint to take the chequered flag 🥇

This race had a mass start, Big pace from the off around this fun rolling circuit .

A steep kicker in the final 1km before a sweeping descent ensured a fast sprint to the line 💨 🔥

All the teams riders performed strongly, everyone got around safely and shared their race stories back in Killian's Lodge Hotel where Moynalty CC provided excellent food & hospitality.

DBCC held onto their lead to win the league with LCC in second place!!!

Cavan Interclub League- Round 6

Thursday evening saw Round 6 of the Cavan Interclub League Scratch Race hosted by CKR Cycling club, on their 25 mile Cootehill circuit.

Race Report
Another very successful evenings racing for Team LCC. We secured 3 podium positions, across the 2 races !

A Race
Group 2 had a 1 minute 19 second time gap over Group 1 at the start, group 1 worked better this week and caught group 2 around 3 miles from the finish, Mark Veitch, Ian Veitch and Adam Stockdale kept the pace strong into the last couple of kms to an uphill bunch sprint , Pryce taking 1st and our Adam Stockdale 2nd!

B Race
Group 4 had a 3 minute 15 second time gap over Group 3 at the start, Big pace from the off and some drop offs on the hills saw high speeds which settled when Group 3 caught Group 4 after around 10 miles in
The race settled well on the home stretch apart from a few bursts then at the bottom of the hill to the line a thrilling bunch sprint to see Lakeland's Alan Veitch hold off the rest to take the win 🎉

This Thursday evening sees Moynalty Cycle Club host round 7, the final round of the Cavan Interclub league! DBCC are slightly leading the league on points with LCC in second place

Well done to our members who love to pull on the trainers too, Enniskillen Running Club held their ever successful 10k yesterday with our Nigel Foster, Michael Pickles, Marty Mc Bride, Conor Sprice and Paul McMulkin taking on the challenging course 👏

We're pleased to announce the launch of the Ulster Youth CX Summer Series.

Following the success of the evenings hosted by Island Wheelers, Square Wheels and Omagh Wheelers in 2025, we're building on that momentum with an even bigger programme of youth-focused cyclocross events this summer.

The series has been designed to introduce more young riders to cyclocross through fun, accessible and welcoming events in a safe off-road environment.

Whether riders are completely new to CX or already enjoy racing, the series provides the perfect opportunity to develop skills, build confidence, make new friends and enjoy being active on the bike.

A huge thank you goes to all of the host clubs and their volunteers who have stepped forward to make this series possible.
Their commitment and enthusiasm are creating valuable opportunities for young cyclists across the province.
