The FA Referees’ Course provides an introduction to officiating 11v11 and 9v9 football. The course will introduce learners to The Laws of Association Football and their application, delivered through theory and practical elements and focussing on the knowledge, skills and attributes required to operate safely and effectively in grassroots football.

The course is made up of six units across three days, from July - October 2025. Learners must be 14 or over on the course start date. Please note that it is mandatory to attend all 3 course dates in order to gain full qualification.

Let’s put it into perspective...

Coaches usually get one hour a week with your child.
That’s 1 out of 168 hours in a week.

And in that one hour — often shared with 6 to 19 other kids — we expect them to work miracles?

Truth is, there’s only so much a volunteer coach can do in that time.
They’re giving their best, but development doesn’t happen in isolation.

Parents play a role too.
⚽ Go to the park and have a kickabout after school.
🧤 Book the odd 1-to-1 session when you can.
🏃‍♂️ Encourage them to play freely with friends.

Because here’s the truth:
The kids who play more, improve more.
Not just the ones who turn up to training once a week.

It’s not about blaming coaches — especially not the mums and dads who volunteer their time.

It’s about all of us doing our bit to help kids grow.

To celebrate the Women’s EURO 2025 this summer and to help make football accessible to more women and girls Manorcroft United Junior Football Club and Achieve Lifestyle at Egham Orbit are hosting a Big Football Day powered by The National Lottery Introduction to Football session for girls aged 5-11 at Egham Orbit on Sat 19 July 10am - 12pm.

This will be a fun, relaxed opportunity for girls aged 5-11 to come along and try football in a friendly, female-led environment. The session is aimed at complete beginners and those with limited playing experience.

We cannot wait to see many of you there, just turn up and join in the fun! ⚽⚽
