The league season may be wrapped up, but there’s still plenty of bowls to be played at Southbourne Bowls Club! 💚💛

Our 2026 Finals Day takes place across:

📅 Saturday 5th September
📅 Sunday 6th September

With club competitions including Veteran Singles, Men’s Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Men’s Singles, Ladies Singles, Longley Cup, Men’s Consolation, Lewis Trophy, Mixed Yardstick and Mixed 2 Wood Singles, there’s plenty to look forward to. 🏆

A number of our members will be taking to the green across the two days, battling it out for club silverware.

All club members, family, friends and supporters are very welcome to come along and show their support! 👏

🏆🟢🟡 DIVISION 1 CHAMPIONS! 🟡🟢🏆

SOUTHBOURNE ARE CHAMPIONS! 🏆🎉

Our league campaign is now complete after 14 games, and what a way to finish it!

With 90 league points on the board and an impressive +243 shot difference, we have done enough to secure the West Sussex Bowls League Division 1 title. 🏆

Some teams still have a game left to play, but they can no longer catch us at the top of the table.

A fantastic achievement from everyone who has represented Southbourne throughout the season. There have been plenty of tough games along the way, but the commitment, determination and team spirit have been brilliant from start to finish. 💚💛

A massive congratulations to everyone involved, and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the season. Whether you’ve played, watched, cheered us on or followed the results, your support has been hugely appreciated. 👏

🟢🟡 LEAGUE SEASON UPDATE 🟡🟢

Friday 14th August
Maltravers 9–1 Southbourne

A tough and tricky tie away from home saw us come away with just 1 league point. Not the result we were looking for, but credit to Maltravers for a strong performance.

Sunday 16th August
Southbourne 10–0 East Preston

What a response! 💪

A fantastic 10–0 win at home put us firmly back in the driving seat at the top of Division 1.

With the league season now complete, Bognor will need to win both of their remaining games 10–0 if they are to overtake Southbourne and take the Division 1 title.

So we wait… 🤞

It’s our second-to-last league game of the season this evening as we head away to Maltravers.

Southbourne win 8–2

A fantastic result at home on Saturday saw us take 8 valuable league points against Worthing Pavilion. 👏

The win means we are now 8 points clear at the top of the table, with just two games remaining.

We’re in a great position, but there’s still plenty to play for. One game at a time as we look to finish the season strongly. 💪

A hard-fought afternoon away from home saw us come away with a valuable 4 league points, despite the narrow overall defeat.

Every point matters at this stage of the season, and these four points are enough to keep us at the top of the league.

Commiserations to Curtis Harrison who lost his County Singles Unbadged Area final at his first attempt playing the competition.
