You probably don’t need more discipline.

You need fewer things to think about.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to lose weight or get healthier is changing everything at once.

New diet. More steps. Gym 4x a week. More protein. More water. Meal prep. Better sleep.

Then two weeks later, it’s all gone to s**t.

Instead, choose 1–2 things you actively have to remember this week.

Make them simple. Repeat them until they become part of your normal routine.

Then build on them.

Sustainable fat loss isn’t about being perfect or constantly relying on motivation.

It’s about building healthy habits that eventually become so normal you barely have to think about them.

Make it so simple you cannot fail.

Day 11/30 🍞
Healthier 🌱 Happier 😊 Stronger 💪🏽

Every Friday I make sourdough for the weekend.

And at 80.1kg this morning, I’m 3.1kg down in 11 days.

The bread is staying. 🍞

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to lose weight is building their entire diet around restriction.

They make a list of everything they think they CAN’T have.

Bread. Carbs. Chocolate. Takeaways. Desserts. Meals out.

It might work for a few weeks.

But what happens when you eventually want those foods again?

I’d much rather teach someone how to INCLUDE the foods they love while still making progress.

Most of my diet is built around nutritious whole foods.
I prioritise protein.
I eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.
I get enough fibre.
I control my overall calorie intake.

And there’s still room for freshly baked sourdough with a fu***ng ridiculous amount of butter on it 😂

That balance isn’t “falling off plan”.
It IS the plan.

Because sustainable fat loss isn’t about becoming really good at avoiding food.

It’s about learning how to eat in a way that supports your goals, your health AND the life you actually want to live.

If the only way your diet works is by banning the foods you love…
you haven’t solved the problem yet.

Chocolate chickpea fudge… or as I described it after one bite:

**F**king chocolate hummus.** 😂

I didn’t hate it. I didn’t particularly like it either.

And I definitely wouldn’t be rushing to make it again.

This is one of those **healthy dessert / high-protein snack recipes** that sounds brilliant on paper:

🍫 400g chocolate
🫘 1 tin of chickpeas

Blend the chickpeas, melt the chocolate, mix them together and refrigerate.

Simple.

But calling something a **healthy high-protein snack** doesn’t automatically make it a great option for fat loss.

Yes, chickpeas contain protein and fibre.

Yes, chocolate can absolutely fit into a balanced diet.

But 400g of chocolate mixed with a tin of chickpeas doesn’t suddenly become some magical **high-protein, low-calorie fat-loss dessert**.

And for me, it didn’t even satisfy the sweet craving particularly well.

That’s the bit that matters.

If you’re trying to **lose weight or stay in a calorie deficit**, there are plenty of sweet snacks and desserts that taste better, provide more protein and leave you more satisfied for the calories.

Or sometimes…

**Just eat some fu***ng chocolate.** 😂

Enjoy it. Account for it. Move on.

You don’t need to turn every food you enjoy into a weird “healthy” alternative to lose fat.

Healthier 🌱 Happier 😊 Stronger 💪🏽

I started eating MORE foods… and ended up lighter.

Day 10: 80.1kg.

That’s 3.1kg down from where I started.

But this isn’t a post telling you carbohydrates make you lose weight.

They don’t.

The point is that I’ve put oats, rice, potatoes, fruit and vegetables BACK into my diet, I’m enjoying food again, my energy has returned…

and I’m still losing body fat because I’m controlling my overall calorie intake.

Yet when most people start a fat-loss diet, they immediately think about restriction.

❌ No carbs
❌ No bread
❌ No chocolate
❌ No takeaways
❌ No eating out

And eventually, no fu***ng chance of sticking to it.

Instead of starting with everything you need to REMOVE, build your diet around what you need to ADD.

🥩 Enough protein
🥦 Plenty of vegetables
🍓 Fruit
🥔 Carbohydrates
🌱 Fibre and mostly whole foods

Then manage your overall calories and leave some room for the foods you eat simply because you enjoy them.

A calorie deficit drives fat loss.

But you don’t get bonus points for making that deficit miserable.

The best thing I’ve done for my diet this week wasn’t cutting something else out.

It was putting things back in.

Day 10/30.

Healthier 🌱 Happier 😊 Stronger 💪🏽

80.6kg this morning.

That’s 2.6kg down since starting this experiment.

But the biggest difference over the last couple of days hasn’t been the scales.

It’s how I FEEL.

My energy is back. Carbohydrates are back. Fruit and vegetables are back. I’m eating a much greater variety of whole foods.

And I’m still losing weight.

Because a calorie deficit doesn’t have to mean eating as little as possible or cutting out entire food groups.

Calories matter for fat loss.

But your food also needs to provide protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, fibre, vitamins and minerals to support everything else your body needs to do.

Training.

Recovery.

Energy.

Health.

And actually enjoying your fu***ng food.

You could eat 1,800 calories of almost anything and potentially lose weight if that puts you in a calorie deficit.

That doesn’t make every 1,800-calorie diet equally good for you.

So don’t just ask:

“How many calories can I eat and still lose weight?”

Also ask:

“What am I getting FROM those calories?”

Build the majority of your diet around nutritious whole foods, control your overall intake and leave some room for the foods you simply enjoy.

Fat loss is one outcome.

Looking after the body you’re losing the fat from matters too.

Day 9/30.
