🌍🥇 We went to the World Championships – and what a team we brought!
This month, five of our members travelled to Schaumburg, near Chicago, to compete at the WTSDA World Tang Soo Do Championships — facing around 1,800 competitors from 17 countries. We are absolutely bursting with pride at what they achieved.
Every single one of them came home with a medal. 🏅
Here's how they did:
🏆 Susie had a stunning competition — gold in weapons, gold in sparring, silver in hyungs, and was crowned Senior Female Gup Champion for the entire championship. An incredible achievement.
🥇 Nathan went three for three — gold in weapons, gold in hyungs, gold in sparring — and came within a whisker of taking the Junior Gup Champion title, just missing out on ranking. What a performance.
🥋 Will flew the flag for our black belts, taking gold in weapons, silver in hyungs and bronze in sparring.
🏅 Philippa had a brilliant day, claiming gold in both weapons and hyungs.
🏅 Rich rounded off a fantastic team effort with bronzes in both weapons and hyungs.
Between them: 8 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes. Not bad for a small community club from the Ely area! 😄
And they were in great company — the wider GB team put in an outstanding performance, with almost every competitor coming home with a medal. 🇬🇧
