2025 Events

Hi all, we are two weeks away from our first event of the year at Newton Green Golf Club near Sudbury on Saturday April 5th

We do have a couple of slots available if you are a local golfer who would like to give our friendly group a go

We will meet at 9.30 for a coffee and bacon rolls, 18 holes on a great course from 10.30 followed by Hunters chicken fries and salad ( vegetarian options are available on request) the cost for this great day is £65

You don’t have to be a regular golfer with a club handicap, many of our regular members are casual golfers without an official handicap. A reasonable knowledge of course etiquette would be a help but we can of course help with that.

Later in the year we have events at Girton, Swaffham and Newmarket all priced the same for similar days

Exactly one month from today, 19th April, will be our first outing of the year at the fantastic Hintlesham Golf Club.
The day consists of coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes followed by ham egg and chips , cost £55 for members and £60 for guests.

After a very successful first outing at Ely last month, we are preparing for our visit to Lakeside, Pidley for our next meeting on May 19th. Coffe and bacon rolls to start, 18 holes followed by a steak and ale pie. £48 for members and £53 for guests , if you are interested please drop me a message

Here are our fixtures for the upcoming season, as a reminder membership fees are £15 per year, this allows you to qualify for the prizes our generous sponsors are providing. The fees below are for members, guests are an additional £5

Friday 21st April. Ely City GC. 18 holes and lunch. £50

Friday 19th May. Lakeside GC Pidley. 18 holes and 2 course meal £48.50

Friday 23rd June Gosfield Lakes 27 holes lunch & dinner. £63

Friday21st July Felixstowe Ferry GC 18 holes and fish & chips £70

Friday 18th August Colne Valley GC 27 holes lunch &dinner £73

Friday 22nd Sept. Chesfield Downs GC 18 holes and 2 course meal £63

Friday 13th Oct. Haverhill GC 27 holes lunch & dinner tbc

Plans are well underway for our 2023 season, the Society’s 35th year. Our AGM is being held in The Stanley Drapkin room of the village hall on Friday 17th Feb at 7pm where this years programme of events will be announced. We have a couple of new venues planned for this year alongside a couple of courses we haven’t visited for a while so please do come along and find out more about this very friendly group where new members are always very welcome.

Our fourth event of the season will take place on Friday 8th July at Gosfield GC.
We will have a full day of golf this time around with 9 holes in the morning followed by 18 in the afternoon. The outline plan at the moment is as follows:

08.30 - Arrive for coffee and rolls
09.30 - AM First tee
11.45 - Rolling lunch of ham,egg & chips
13.00 - PM First tee
18.30-19.00 - 2 course dinner (carvery) followed by prizegiving
Cost £63 for members and £68 for guests

Under 2 weeks now until our first meeting at Ely GC on Apr 7th. The format of the day will be coffee and breakfast roll on arrival at 9 am 18 holes of golf, first tee time at 10 and a 2 course meal after.
Cost for this day £50 for members and £55 for guests

Final numbers need to be confirmed by the 3rd so for all those wishing to play, payment needs to be received by then along with annual subs of £15 for members
