We had a splendid weekend of like-minded souls at CIAT Ashfields. Beautiful horses, ponies and carriages and a dash of sunshine made the whole lot sparkle.

Thankyou to our judges, Eric Macrez (France) , Sarah Dance and Andrew Counsell for lending their expertise and a lovely cross-discipline feel to the event.
Thanks to the Ashfields team who couldn’t do enough for us.
We kept the small but brilliant army of helpers well fed and extend our gratitude to each and every one for giving up their time.
Thanks too to our generous sponsors who ensure the whole gig goes off smoothly and everyone goes home happy and with a goody bag.
This is our 6th year and the first one without Elizabeth Cartwright Hignett but she’ll be pleased to know, we kept to the high standards that are synonymous with AIAT.

“Probably the most photographed bicycle in the history of attelage!”

Available to purchase at our Saturday night Auction.

This original vintage bicycle was used by Pat and Richard Aisthorpe to complement their charming turnout with Rocky the Shetland.

They have very kindly donated it for our auction and we are accepting bids up to 7pm Saturday 13th June by private message to make it available to any small equine drivers or veloists. If you think you’re as fit as Richard and would like to bid for this lovely bike, please let us know.

🌟Biosecurity at CIAT Ashfields.

To everyone coming to Ashfields next week. Please be mindful of the current UK Equine Flu Outbreaks.

Ensure your horse has a current flu vaccination within the last 12 months ( for interest: so far there are no known new cases of flu in horses vaccinated every 6 months)

Please bring your horses’ passports when you collect your event pack on arrival.

There is plenty we can all do to minimise the risk of spreading any virus.
Eg:

-avoid touching/stroking other people’s horses and wash hands if you do

-use only your own equipment: buckets/haynets/grooming kit etc

-avoid grazing horses and ponies in high traffic areas

With some simple precautions we can keep our animals healthy and.. out competing!
