** GOOD CITIZEN OBEDIENCE TRAINING **

We are now up and running with Royal Kennel Club GCD training scheme - Bronze Award. The first block will commence on Tuesday, 7th July at 7pm. Numbers are tightly controlled so if you wish to secure your place, please click the link to book. If places sell out, there will be a waiting list so we can pop you on the next available block - if interest is very high, we will look at adding extra blocks so hopefully nobody should be waiting to long to get the chance to train with us.

*WEATHER WARNING *
The next puppy rebels WAS DUE TO BE next Monday and the weather is set to be 28 degrees that day. I don't have a crystal ball but I would imagine that even by 7pm its going to be too hot for babies out in the field. I have, therefore, cancelled the session and rescheduled it for the following Monday instead - 1st June. The link to book your slot is below:

Just a heads up on the Good Citz training - I'm ready to go but until the KC send me their hard copy of the authorisation letter and welcome pack with the various hand outs etc for everybody, I can't start teaching .... I've given the KC a nudge today and as soon as they come up with the goods, we'll get cracking.

Looking like starting at the end of June. We will look at many skills and techniques but will ensure that all areas required to pass The Bronze Award will be focussed upon. Those areas for the award encompass the following areas:
*Loose leash walking
*Control at a gate or doorway
*Controlled walk among people/dogs including 1 min conversation
*1 minute stay, on lead, with handler 5 paces away
*Grooming - equipment and techniques, by the handler
*Examination of the dog - all parts of the body, by the handler
*Return to the handler when called from a distance of 10 paces
*Responsibility and care (information available on KC website)

Driffield Champ Show is now available to enter through Higham Press. Just a heads up that the website says it’s at Wetherby but it’s moved and is actually now at Stafford, as per the actual show catalogue.

GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME (GCDS)

Rhodes 2 Ringcraft has been granted

** ROYAL KENNEL CLUB LISTED STATUS **

I am now in a position to start organising the first block of BRONZE level GCDS training. Training will be crafted to teach many obedience techniques as well as the skills required to pass the Bronze level test. We will also touch on skills for the higher silver level too, so your transition upwards after your test should be seamless.

The training will take place at Hunsdale Farm Dog Barn, just off the A63 between South Cave and Ellerker, East Yorkshire:-

*on a Tuesday evening.
*at 7 pm
*in pre-booked blocks of 5 sessions
*payable in full at the time of booking (non-refundable)
*bookable through the www.Rhodes2Safety.com event page

We will have a maximum of 8 dogs per block so there will be a waiting list for anybody not able to secure a place.

Thank you everyone for your continued patience. I’ve just received notification that I’ve been approved by the Royal Kennel Club to deliver GCD classes so I’ll get it all up and running very soon and, further to the original poll, it looks like it will be a Tuesday evening. Watch this space for further information and how to confirm your place 😎

You may remember me mentioning Daisy, a Sh*tzu with severe reactivity issues who would lunge and react and at every dog she passed, regardless of how far away they were. Well, we’ve been training and working together once a week for a couple of months now and what a difference. 🤩

On our walk today I lost count of the number of dogs we met, all sizes and all breeds, and not a single swear or lunge. Walking along side by side with Dice and Coda, off the lead in the woods and loose leash all the way round. Never has the phrase “chalk and cheese” been so accurate in describing her behaviour from two months ago to now. What a star her owner has been - best student, fabulous little dog, one very happy trainer ❤️
