Resdev/Big Bear Bolts Senior Tour

Resdev/Big Bear Bolts Senior Tour Bowling tour with events in the north for all bowlers over the age of 45

13/07/2026

Just a short update from yesterdays post, many thanks for all the compliments i have received but it was very remiss of me yesterday not to mention the 2 important people in all of this, firstly I must thank Nick Wright of Resdev for all the sponsorship he has given over the years with no conditions and the tour would not have taken off like it did without his help and also Stuart England of Big Bear Bolts who did exactly the same in the last 3 years that kept up the momentum of the tour, I cannot thank them enough. I just wanted to post this as all the nice words coming my way would not have happened without their help. So to Nick and Stu, thanks for all the support.

As mentioned last update, i have had not enough further entries and a dropout, so with a heavy heart I sadly will be cancelling the rest of the tour. I am really sorry to have to do this but i hope you will understand why. Hopefully this will not be the end but if so i would like to thank all the bowlers I have had the pleasure of meeting in the last 15 years of running these tournaments. I hope you have all had as much fun playing as i have watching you all do your best.

Once again i am sorry i have had to do this.

Many thanks for all the memories.

Congratulations to Darren Cundy on his maiden senior tour win on Sunday at Scunthorpe, just holding off Rob Thurlby and Alan Keddie. Rounding out the final were top lady Carole Orange, Paul Hewitt, Ian Hollands, Mark S Smith and (Mr) Stuart England. Attached pictures of top 3 and Ladies winner. Apologies for poor standard of photos.

As for Chesterfield on 26th, at moment I do not have enough entries to make it worthwhile, should i not receive enough entries by this weekend I will unfortunately have to cancel the rest of the tour.

Just to let all bowlers know cost on Sunday will be £80 and the lane pattern will be 40ft challenge.

As entries for above seem to be dropping to a level that makes these tournaments non-viable due to cessation of sponsorship, I will be taking entries for Chesterfield on 26th July as from Sunday 5th Scunthorpe, should the level of entries be the same I will be reluctantly cancelling future events, this post is just to make all bowlers aware of the situation.

Update for bowlers for above. At moment Scunthorpe will go ahead on 5th July. However the prize fund will be considerably lower than previous stops so to that end and to eke out a worthwhile fund there will be a slight change of format, ther will only be 3 rounds of bowling instead of 4 with finalists playing 13 games rather than 15 which in current conditions might be beneficial. Cost of bowling will be as previously stated £80.

Attached is current squad lists. Anyone wishing to play I have 4 spaces in 12.30pm squad and plenty in 09.15am squad. Anyone unable to play please let me know asap as if there are too many dropouts I will reluctantly cancel the event.

Just to let all bowlers that the next stop at Scunthorpe will BE going ahead on 5th July, so anyone wishing to enter please let me know asap. Due to a cessation of sponsorship, to maintain a reasonable prize fund I am sorry to say that the entry fee will have to rise to £80. Also due to this there will be no masters at the end of the tour stops in September. I hope everyone understands this.

Congratulations to Jo Cundy on her win at Altrincham on the tour 2nd stop, in a thrilling final after one game it was any of the top 4 who could have won but then Jo went into over drive to shoot an unassailable 268 to claim victory, runner up Rob Thurlby held off the challenge of Gary Baker in 3rd and Lee Knaggs in 4th. My thanks to Altrincham bowl for all their assistance throughout the day. My thanks to Stu England from Big Bear Bolts for presenting the winners with their prize money. As for the next stop at Scunthorpe on 5th July, i will be making a further post later in the week.
