8:15am โ Hall available for competitors & spectators. Competitors check wall sheets for category numbers and judges for ring allocation (Blackbelts will perform all divisions first, please check for your allocated ring)
8:30am โ Masters & Blackbelt Rule Brief
8:45am โ Start Line Up (3rd Dans to help get lines in order)
9:00am โ Official Bow In/ Speeches/ Presentations
9:30am โ Masters and Seniors blackbelts to allocated rings
- Blackbelt & Tiger Categories will begin immediately (All divisions where possible)
11:00am Onwards โ All blackbelts and Masters to allocated rings
- All coloured belt categories will start immediately
- Some weapons and sparring divisions may be done separately due to some divisions splits however we will try our best to do all categories back to back.
(Masters, open belt and team sparring will be at the end of the day)
THERE WILL BE NO RESTARTING OF FORMS FOR ALL GRADES. RESTARTS WILL RESULT IN A STRAIGHT 7 SCORE AWARDED.
1:15pm โ 20-30 minute rotation break for lunch for all judges (lunch will be provided for masters only)
Sparring Rules โ
- All rounds will be 2 minutes long & stop if you opponent is 11 points clear.
- 1 point for any hand technique to the head or body (backfist, reverse punch, jab etc)
- 2 points for any kicking technique to the body (front, side, round, hook, diagonal kick etc)
- 2 points for any turning or jumping kick to the body (jumping front kick, spin hook kick, turning back kick etc). Both feet must leave the ground on the jump technique.
- 3 points for any kicking technique to the head (front, side, round, hook, diagonal kick etc)
- 3 points for any turning or jumping kick to the head (jumping front kick, spin hook kick, turning back kick etc). Both feet must leave the ground on the jump technique.
- No spinning backfists, sweeps or ridge hands will, be accepted as points at the competition.
- There must be controlled contact at every level (especially children) and no contact to the back of the head/back, below the belt or face.
- Everyone must have full sparring equipment. Head guard, gum guard, shin pads, hand pads (must be closed finger gloves), feet pads (which cover the toes) are MANDATORY and if the participant feels necessary groin guards/chest guards also.
- If there is a tie, there is no extra time, straight to sudden death, however all referees must point/vote same direction for point to count (if there are 3 referees then 3 must point the same way for transparency).
- ANY referee at the competition can call point in sparring rounds. There is no Losers Round in this competition.
- Grand champions are worked on a points basis (Golds 10 points, Silvers 5 points, Bronze 3 points). The participant with the highest points will be awarded at the end of the day. You MUST have at least one gold to qualify. In the result of a tie, participants will be required to perform their competition hyung for the senior judges.
2-3:00pm โ Open belt & team sparring will begin same rules apply as above. Any helpers available can help with mat and hall tidy up as we will condense down rings for this.
4pm โ Official Line up and Grand Champions Presentations
4:30pm โ Competition Finished
There is a ยฃ5 spectator fee on the day (under 5s free). Please ensure you bring exact CASH for this.
