⚔️ PLAYER DEPARTURE ⚔️

Arran Weir (C) - Sponsored by MADE - UK

Sad day for the club as we say good riddance to our club captain Arran Weir.

The West Coast Wizard has been with the club a number of seasons now and was nominated by outgoing captain Tam Hearns to lead the team. Playing the majority of his time at the club as a midfield playmaker, latterly found himself further up the park.

An important player on and off the pitch, embracing his role as captain whether it was helping the management with equipment, getting the boys round for a few beers, or demanding a standard on the park. He was well liked throughout the league and also played a part in a successful Community Cup campaign for Elgin Caley on loan.

He signed off on his last game for the Vikes with a well taken penalty (finally) leaving the club with 6 goals and 9 assists to his name.

He's off down to England somewhere to play Saturday football and we'll hold onto his registration until FIFA gives the chairman a stern telling off.

Good luck Arran.
Once a Viking, Always a Viking.

⚔️ PLAYER SPONSORSHIP ⚔️

Now that we're at the end of our Summer season, half way through our year and preparing for our winter season. Let's take a moment to thank our player sponsors.

Greg Morrison - Sponsored by C&J Contractors

Greg Joined us at the start of the season after a spell at Elgin Caley. The forward has grown in confidence over the season and has played a significant number of minutes over a difficult campaign. Found his calling as a striker, able to change up his play style to compliment his strike partner whoever it is that game.

Sam McCrone - Sponsored by Regista

The tall forward has been signed to the club since the first ever game. His trademark move is the quick break off the backline to get on the end of a long ball, an expert at 1v1's. Tied 8th in the all time top goalscorer chart with 13 goals. (3 of those coming against FC Thistle 👀)

Gary Souter - Sponsored by Regista

A product of our youth academy. Bar a confusing time when he tried to use his league powers to force through a transfer to FC Thistle. The Chairman has been registered as a player since the first season (had to sign himself so we had enough players to make the league minimum) Played a handful of games for the club since starting rehabilitation for a heart condition. Managing 30 minutes against Mosset Tavern and recording a grand total of 0 shots.

Lee Swan - Sponsored by PINEFIELD glass

Joining the club last year from Elgin Albion the centre mid slotted in at full back and made the position his own for a significant portion of this season. The definition of a midfield engine. Runs himself into the ground for the team every game.

Alfie Young - Sponsored by The Braemou Inn, Hopeman

2025 Ironman Award winner Alfie Young has played almost every minute of the last two seasons. Had an opportunity to play further up the park in the second half of the season and make a huge impact. Third in the goalscorer chart with 5 goals this season (I think most of them are headers too...)

⚔️ PLAYER SPONSORSHIP ⚔️

Now that we're at the end of our Summer season, half way through our year and preparing for our winter season. Let's take a moment to thank our player sponsors.

Ali Johnson - Sponsored by PINEFIELD glass

Our long serving towering goalkeeper has played an important role in the club this year, supporting the management off field and putting in some goalkeeping heroics on the park. Later on in the season he took on a role supporting our young loanee goalkeeper whilst he was recovering from an injury.

Harley Logan - Sponsored by Shannon Logan Hairdressing

A new signing providing blistering pace and tenacious pressing out wide and up top. Harley has made a positive impact in his short time at the club. Chipping in with a number of goals & assists whilst getting regularly wiped out in the process.

Owen Lowrie - Sponsored by Jim Mckay

Owen played in the very first Vikings game and has been a foundational member of the club since. Bar a brief loan spell at Buckie FC he has been part of the squad since the beginning. Happy to chip in across a number of positions when called upon.

Ethan Marini - Sponsored by Aesthetic Attraction

Ethan started on the bench in the first ever Vikings game and made it his mission since then to make the chairman regret the decision. He leads the all time assists chart and is second in the all time goal scorer chart. A total of 58 goal contributions in his time at the club (interrupted by brief spells at Elgin Caley) He's also taken on the role of Kitman, providing an absolutely essential job to support the management off the park.

Dan McNeil - Sponsored by WK Marine

A new signing this season. Dan's work requirements mean that his game time has been limited. But his calm, assured play style is always welcome when he's available. Played most of his minutes at centre back this season but is equally capable up top.

Now that we're at the end of our Summer season, half way through our year and preparing for our winter season. Let's take a moment to thank our player sponsors.

Greg Dempster - Sponsored by Aviemore Dog Park

The manager played a significant number of minutes in the second half of the season providing an experienced head in the backline in our bid to end our winless run and finish the season on a high.

Stewart Fraser - Sponsored by Stewart Fraz Fraser

After undergoing surgery on a long term injury Stew Fraz has provided support to the management team on and off the park whilst he rehabilitates and reclaims his place in the backline.

Tam Hearns - Sponsored by Taps Aff Maintenance

The Assistant Manager has applied his versatility to a number of positions this season once again. Officially the first player to have played every position on the park for the Vikes. Tamas Muller, a recreational league ramdeuter. If he's your strike partner, he's going to make your job easy.

Callum Hill - Sponsored by Golden Tee FC & Cormor maintenance

Comfortable at either centre back or left back. A regular face in the squad (apart from that stint when he was wrapped in cotton wool for a month. Prioritising his wedding over getting skelped every week.) Works as hard off the field as he does on it. Responsible for connecting us with several important club partners.

Michal Jakubczyk - Sponsored by PINEFIELD glass

Michal is one of the original Vikings. He's had some unfortunate long term injuries but he's always willing to get stuck in when required. Comfortable anywhere across the back line, a tough tackling defender who hates fried pickles.

Each minute a defibrillator or CPR is delayed drops survival chances by 7% to 10%, making immediate action vital during sudden cardiac arrest. The more publicly accessible defibrillators we can install in our communities the more chance we have of saving someones life if the worst should happen.

If you can spare a minute of your time please vote for Keirans Legacy our charity partner. We're incredibly proud of the work they do and every little helps, engage with their posts, donate your time/money, they've got lots of fundraising opportunities.

⚔️ MATCH REPORT ⚔️

Elgin Caley 6 - 5 The Vikings

One of the most entertaining games I've had the opportunity to watch this season. Double figures goals and almost equally shared for once!

It was back and forth all game. We went into the break 4-2 down. Alfie Young floating a free kick in from far out at the touchline and Lee Swan getting the final touch to score after Jamie Lees knocked it past the keeper. A tough first half facing the sun, struggling to cope with the long balls and not finding that killer touch in the final third. Having pulled one back right at the end of the half we went into the break confident.

Unfortunately Caley got a 5th a minute in. A miraculous turn around saw us score 3 goals in 5 minute to get ourselves firmly back in the game. Ethan Marini, Alfie Young, and Jamie Lees combining to create the 3 goals. Caley's 6th would turn out to the winner but we pushed til the final whistle and came close to an equaliser on a few occasions.

A proper game of welfare football for us to sign off a difficult season. Good luck to Elgin Caley in the quarter finals.

⚔️ MATCHDAY ⚔️

🆚 Elgin Caley
🏆 AJ Engineering FNWFA Cup
📆 Tuesday 25th August
⏰ 6:45pm
🏟️ Pinefield
📍 Elgin

With the league now concluded we face Elgin Caley in the preliminary round of the end of season cup. If we can add to last weeks win with another we'll face either Lossiemouth Utd or FC Bishopmill in the quarter finals.

Always an entertaining game against Caley (lets forget the highland cup game that had like 1 shot on target between us) and plenty goals to be had. They've had the better of us all season but the lads will be hoping to fix that tonight.
