If you’re fishing around Cullen, Portknockie or Findochty there are some cracking options this afternoon and into the evening.

**Portknockie is looking like the top pick especially for lure fishing for po***ck, coalies and mackerel as the tide pushes in. Cullen Harbour/Bay and Findochty are also well worth a try, with the rocky marks. Take a rucksack and have a wander.

September can still be a cracking month for lure fishing around the Moray coast, with coalfish, pollack and sea trout all still worth targeting.

A few HTO Pathfinder casting lures or Red Gill soft lures in the tackle box and you’re ready to give it a go from the harbour, rocks or shoreline.

I’m sure a few of our anglers will want to help. I’m certainly up for it

Been nattering with Chris from MacDuff Aquarium just now and as I'm sure many of you are aware, we have been trying to organise some species collection for the aquarium.

Well it looks like we are finally going to get to do something.

In either two or three weeks, we are going to have a fishing weekend for juvenile whiting, haddock, cod, Gurnard, po***ck, coalfish and many other species.

I'll print out a list of species needed and species not needed.

There will hopefully be five free seats on two or possibly three boats as well as fishing from the pier and shore.

The bulk of this will be LRF fishing, which will be better and cause less damage to the smaller fish.

Anyone interested, please get in touch.

Details will be finalised between myself and Chris and then I'll put dates etc together.
