Mike and I were lucky to arrive at WSPC when there was a plethora of very knowledgeable skiffers / rowers. We won’t name-drop but we did row with and against some really good technique. Years ago, Mike and I decided to pass on all that knowledge to the younger generation of rowers. Every Sunday morning, we are spending a couple of hours passing the art of good sculling to junior rowers, some as young as 7 years old. While some do get it rather quickly, for others, it might take a little more time but what really matters is that they all do get it and end up being really capable rowers which Mike and I are very proud of. Yesterday afternoon, sat on the bank of the Henley course, we were pondering about this. With a mixed emotions of pride, excitement and joy, we were agreeing that this is why we’re doing this: enjoyment and success. Of course, the fact that Rowan and Elodie were the original WSPC juniors and our own flesh and blood did had to the mix. Thank you all for your messages of congratulations (may they continue) and your support every Sunday morning keeping the frontage clear 😁
