Celebrating the people who make sport and physical activity at Royal Holloway as fantastic as it is 🎉
There were plenty of celebrations at the annual Student Life Awards, highlighting just a snippet of the amazing sport community.
Congratulations to all of the winners!
Adam and Richard battled all elements to make sure our pitches have been in incredible shape this year. They went above and beyond whilst missing a member of the grounds team to maintain a very high standard for our facilities, which are renowned in the region.
The Frank Grimes award is an historic achievement spanning five decades at Royal Holloway, and is given to those who show outstanding contribution to sport at the University.
Amber has excelled in competition this season, breaking into national events and has consistently placed strongly against elite athletes. As a first-year, the ceiling for Amber is very high!
Kieran has dedicated the last year to recovering from injury, leading him to a top 10 finish in international competition in wakeboarding. His leadership and commitment to the sport have led him to be named co-captain of Team GB Wakeboarding, an outstanding achievement.
College Caps are awarded to those who compete for their nation whilst studying at Royal Holloway. Suraj represented Norway in Paris at the European Flag Football Championships, a highlight in a strong season of European competition and playing for Royal Holloway Bears.
Winston is a dedicated student volunteer, who has run the weekly Just Play Badminton sessions as an Activator throughout the year. His friendly and kind approach to welcoming fellow students to the sport has built a great inclusive community.
Grace has shone as a Sports Centre Assistant working at the Sports Centre this year. She has provided excellent customer service and taken on levels of responsibility that have ensured the Sports Centre runs smoothly for the benefit of everyone. She is a pleasure to work with and represents Active Lifestyle & Sport very well.
