What an incredible result for at the HDKI International Cup in Japan!🥋🇯🇵

A massive congratulations to:

Taylor Hurst:

🥇 GOLD – Junior Team Kata
🥉 BRONZE – Kumite, 12–15 over 160cm
🥉 BRONZE – Kata, 12–13 3rd Kyu+

David Hurst:

🥉 BRONZE – Kumite, Vets 55+

A big well done also to James Hayes, who performed Bassai Dai and did us proud after learning four senior katas in preparation for the comp.

Day 2 complete! 🥋🇯🇵

Another fantastic session, this time with Koji Okumachi Sensei, 7th Dan Wado-Kai and former World Kata Champion.

We explored Wado fundamentals, shuto and using nagashi to move off-line in partner work, with David getting the best seat in the house as Sensei’s uke! 😂🥋

And for Leanne, a great opportunity to go back to her Wado roots! 😊🥋

Two fantastic days of training already…thanks so much for the opportunity HDKI, HDKI - GB 🙏

An incredible first session with Shinji Nagaki Sensei, former WKF World Kumite Champion.

Lots of focus on hip movement, body mechanics and power generation. So much to take away and work on 🧠
