Today there were a couple of internal matches being played.

Along with our hat nights on a Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6.30 our members can pop names down for various internal competitions.

Yesterday we played ‘ Spider’

Each player payed £1 and formed a circle around the outside of the green with one bowl. The jack was placed in the centre.
On go everyone aimed for the jack. The closest at the end won a bottle of whiskey.

A great afternoon of bowls today here at Edzell Bowling Club at our 7 end competition.

There was sunshine, clouds and a few showers of rain.

We had a super 49 entries today. With Neil Murray from Drumlithie Bowling Club winning the final. A huge congratulations.

Thank you to everyone who entered, came along to support the bowlers, supported our club purchasing a raffle ticket and buying a fine piece from our clubhouse.

Hopefully see you all again soon at our next competition.

Today we host our first open competition of the year, starting at 12 noon.
A 7 end competition sponsored by George and Gillian Barclay.
Fingers crossed it stays dry. 🤞
If your passing your welcome to come in and watch.
We have tea, coffee, cakes, rolls and pies available to purchase from our club house.
You can even try your luck at our raffle.

Another busy day for the club today.

Firstly we hosted a Bowls Scotland National Championship qualifier in the Over 55 rinks section between Parkview and Brechin.

While this was happening, George Barclay was playing in the over 55s Gents Singles at Montrose and came away with a fantastic victory over Parkview 21-3.

Then this evening a rink consisting of Don Cameron, Gillian Barclay, Paul Archibald and George Barclay came out on top in the Renny Tailyour Trophy 17-5 over a rink from Newgate.

Tomorrow evening sees our Gents Single competitor, Lee Elder, hoping to follow up his good victory in the first round against Dudhope B at Kirriemuir.

Well done to all players today.

Busy night for the club as we have players out competing in the National qualifiers tonight.

Our pair of George Barclay and Jay Gallagher take on Parkview (A) at Brechin BC

Our singles competitor Lee Elder takes on Dudhope (A) at Forfar BC.

Good luck to everyone taking part and I’m sure they would appreciate any support if you were available to go and support.
