Due to the current heatwave I have decided to postpone my Summer Blooms workshop .work.shop.at.no19 until the 9th of July.

Given that it has still been 30 degrees well into the evening the last two nights I just don’t think it will be enjoyable to go ahead as scheduled.

I’m very sorry for those who cannot join me for the new date.

Heading for a restorative rest session. I don’t have the energy to pull out all the props. So I’m using sofa cushions, one supporting under my knees, one on my tummy for some weight/grounding. I have a rolled fleece blanket and large cushion for back and head support. My hubby’s t shirt for an eye cover and a weighted blanket.

I know I’ve got the set up right when I immediately don’t want to move! A whole body sigh of relief.

Now the phone goes onto airplane mode and I set a timer for 25 mins.
Yes, sometimes I do fall asleep, and that’s okay. Often I’m in a liminal state between awake and asleep and I guide myself back to watching the breath move through the body and use a mantra of Let Go.

Sometimes my brain is still in monkey mind mode and I only get to deep rest towards the end of the time. When that’s happening I will try to lift my hand and then when it feels impossible I realise the work is being done regardless of my minds antics.

That’s my forte.
I love trying out new ways of making marks, this experiment was made by placing wild flowers and leaves into puddles of watercolour and waiting for them to dry.

Final prep for tomorrows workshop. I usually do seasonal illustrations with restful words, but I have been utterly consumed by drawing flowers, inventing flowers and doodling. So that’s what they are!

Looking forward to my Autumn workshop Stretch & Rest featuring yin and restorative yoga

I’ve planned a yin sequence inspired by TCM and the meridian channels of the Lung and Large Intestine, followed by deep rest in the second half. Yaasssss!
