Centre Manager
🕒 28 hours per week (4 days)
💼 Lead day-to-day operations, support community activity, and help shape a welcoming, well-run centre.

Centre Administrator (EERI-funded role)
🕒 21 hours per week
💼 Provide bookings, admin and customer service support in a busy, friendly community environment.

We're very excited to host the new Scottish Poetry Choir in May!

Introducing The Scottish Poetry Choir 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

After some teasers from Heather Macleod, Metro 13 Music, and Naomi Head, and a couple of exciting months of Research & Development with Soundhouse CHOIR, I'm ready to reveal my latest project.

The Scottish Poetry Choir is a multi-voice spoken word choir bringing group performance poetry to life in the modern day. It harks back to the roots of poetry and theatre and is based on the classic format of the Greek chorus which embodies multi-voice spoken verse.

I love slams and have spent a lot of time giving slam poets and spoken word artists space to share their work, but I thought it was time to bring people into poetry and spoken word without having to compete for space. The choir's innovative new format is the first of its kind in Scotland and will give members and the public an alternative, non-competitive way to engage with poetry and spoken word.

We are seeking members for the choir's first term, which starts with a free taster session on Tuesday, May 6 at Charteris Centre. I'm looking forward to this new adventure and can't wait to share what we've been up to so far in the run up to our first term starting next month!
