❗️CHANGE OF DAY & LOCATION ❗️

Far too many goalkeepers do not receive adequate training at their clubs.

This can stifle their development when it comes to key game related scenarios.

My adult class offers these individuals the chance to work on their game outwith their club.

Great day down at Leeds training ground yesterday watching the under 18’s take on Liverpool.

Final score Leeds 4 Liverpool 1 💪🏼

Rory’s stand out points for me, that we can all aim to add to our games:

✅ Controlling the tempo of the game through solid distribution

✅ Preventing opposition opportunities through effective communication

ANOTHER LOCAL SUCCESS STORY 👏🏼

It’s been fantastic to have Poppy back at our adult class whilst her club training at Hearts has been off.

Poppy has come a long way since the early days of “W’s” and “baskets”. So much so that she currently plays up several age groups at Hearts and has also been involved with the Scotland squad this week.

Well done Poppy and keep up the good work 👍🏼🙌🏼

Tag someone who needs to work on their kicking 😝

In the adult game, distributing the ball from feet occurs, on average, 12 x more often than making a save.

Despite this, kicking is very rarely practiced at team training, leaving match days as the only opportunity to refine this key part of a goalkeeper’s game. Not exactly ideal.

This is just one of the areas of focus at my Wednesday night adult class.
