Annual challenge
Every year, Balerno Bowling Club host an annual bowling challenge featuring teams representing the two main football teams in Edinburgh.
The Hearts and Hibs bowling match has proved extremely popular in previous years and we expect it to be the same in 2026.
This match is open to ALL members of Balerno Bowling Club and the scheduled date is Sunday, September 27.
The start time is 2pm and registration is at the club from 1pm on the day.
Charles Dalton confirmed that a notice to append names for your favourite team will be placed on the men’s and ladies notice boards in the clubhouse.

Congratulations to Robert Douglas on winning the Duff Cup, our two bowl singles competition, with a 21 v 19 victory over Derek Drysdale.

The Balerno senior WOLSBA finals are taking place next Friday the 11th September at Slateford B.C. with a 1-30pm game start time. All support would be much appreciated by our qualifying teams with our Triples and Rink taking part.

The seniors 4 bowl pairs was played yesterday afternoon in not the best of conditions weather wise.
The winning pair of David Lawson & Kenny Girdler won against Charlie Dalton & Paddy Welsh.
They would like to thank all who came down to watch.

Balerno senior triples final played tonight was won by Tom Murray John Duncan & Robert Douglas against Phil Marshall Adam Patterson & Brian Buckner.

Balerno senior singles played Sunday 30th at 2pm the final was won by Tom Murray beating his good friend Kenny Girdler. In what one can only say was a great final and game, thanks to all the supporters who turned up to watch much appreciated by both players.
