Dilettantes Dance Club Social dancing by the people for the people! ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐——๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐——๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฏ? Our first aim will always be to have a good time! Wish us luck!

๐—ช๐—ต๐—ผ ๐—ถ๐˜€ โ€œ๐˜„๐—ฒโ€?

We bring together different dance communities, encourage people to try out and learn from different genres and styles, and to find all the ways that we can dance together to all kinds of rhythms. A โ€œdilettanteโ€ is an enthusiastic amateur, and so are we: people who like dancing, while not making any claims to be particularly good at it. Beyond that, though: the ๐——๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐——๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฏ is a project. We want to bring together different dance communities, encourage people to try out and learn from different genres and styles, and to find all the ways that we can dance together to all kinds of rhythms. We're starting out with a queer tango class, but that's only the beginning. Right now? It's mostly Conor and whichever friends he manages to rope in to help him organise things. Dear friends! After much deliberation, we've decided that for 2026 and the foreseeable future, we'll be moving our weekly Q***r Tango classes to Tuesday evenings and to the more-central location of 13 Upper Gray Street.

We do hope you will join us for class, starting again next week on 13 January at 6.45pm!

Friends! Our classes will be on Tuesdays at 13 Upper Gray Street until we break for Christmas.

Our favourite people Quentin and Jo-Lee will be teaching a new step each week, starting with the parada!

Class will be at 6.45pm for one hour followed by a practica. Next week, instead of the practica we will be going to the Counting House milonga together and we do hope you join us!

Get your hands on an official Dilettantes Dance Club membership card!

(That's right, you too could be a certified Friend)

If you buy a block of four dance classes in advance, not only will you get a 10% discount but you will also get a nifty membership card. When you come to class, we just cross off one of the little flags โ€“ easy!

When it's full... we just peel it off, stick a new one on and start over. It's washi tape!
