𝙂𝙪𝙮 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩

Lasswade AC is proud to celebrate the outstanding career of Guy Learmonth, who has announced he will retire at the end of this track season. From his early days as a talented club junior athlete to becoming one of Scotland’s fastest ever 800m runners, Guy’s journey has been remarkable.

He broke the Scottish U20 800m record multiple times, set national age‑group championship records, and quickly rose to become one of Britain’s brightest young athletes.

Guy went on to represent Scotland and Great Britain at the Commonwealth Games, European Championships, and World Indoor and Outdoor Championships, achieving a superb personal best of 1:44.73 - ranking him fourth all‑time in Scotland.

A four‑time British Indoor Champion and a consistent international performer, Guy has been an inspiration to athletes across the club and beyond.

Lasswade AC extends its warmest congratulations to Guy on an exceptional career and wishes him every success in the future. His achievements will remain a proud part of our club’s history.

The Red Hose Race which will be held at Carnwath Show on Saturday 25th July. If you fancy entering please see poster for the race and also an entry form.

The 2nd match for the Forth Valley League is on Sunday 7th June @ Grangemouth. If your child has not been signed up please sign up asap so that we can fill all events. This is a competition for Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 athletes There are a small number of events in each of the three fixtures, but is a great league to enter if you are new to competing. We currently compete in Div 2.

We also need to provide 4 parent helpers at 1pm U16B Shot and 2.30pm U14B Long Jump. Guidance from FVL officials coordinator is helpers should report to their event 15 minutes before the start time (or whenever they see officials arrive) but may be required at other events if not at the events specified above.

The club received an email from Carnegie Harriers regarding a race on Tuesday 18th August.

Details of email as follows -

Carnegie Harriers are delighted to advise that entries to the Graham Clark Memorial Race at Knockhill Racing Circuit will open on Sunday 10th May at 7pm. The race takes place on Tuesday 18th August at 7:15pm.

The race covers 3 loops of the Knockhill Racing Circuit and is approximately 3.9 miles and will be followed by a post-race buffet and prizegiving.

In recent years, the race has sold out very quickly so please let your members know when the race opens so that they don't miss out.
