In a world that moves so fast, hobbies like knitting, reading, gardening, sewing, or baking are often seen as “old-fashioned.”But maybe they’re exactly what we need.

These slow hobbies reconnect us with our body and mind. They teach patience, presence, creativity, and care. They remind us that not everything has to be productive, rushed, or online.

There is something deeply healing about creating with your hands, sitting quietly with a book, or watching something grow slowly over time.

Maybe slowing down is not falling behind.Maybe it’s coming back to ourselves.

Mindfulness and meditation are NOT the same…
but people confuse them all the time.

Meditation is a practice.
It’s when you pause and train your mind.

Mindfulness is a state of being.
It means being present, here and now, without judgment.

You can meditate to practice mindfulness…
but you can also be mindful while walking, breathing, living.

Can you stay present during your day?
Let me know in the comments 🤍

Ready for practice… or maybe just a moment together 🐶🧘‍♀️💜

Sometimes yoga doesn’t start with a pose,
but with presence…
and a little furry companion who reminds you to slow down.

Before going out, before the day begins,
just breathe. Together.

✨ Do you have a yoga buddy too?

respira. Insieme.

✨ Anche tu hai un “compagno di yoga”

I often get asked: “What’s the best breathing exercise?”

And my answer is always the same:
the best breath is the one that makes you feel better.

There are many ways to breathe — diaphragmatic, lateral, slow, deep, energising, calming.
In yoga we call them pranayama, and each one serves a different purpose.

Some days you need grounding.
Some days you need energy.
Some days you just need to soften.

✨ There’s no perfect technique.
✨ There’s only the breath that meets you where you are.

Listen. Breathe. Choose what feels good today. 🌬️🤍

Hi everyone, I’d like to introduce myself.
My name is Emanuela, and I’ve been a yoga teacher for 10 years. I’ve been part of the Musselburgh community throughout this time, and it’s been such a joy to share my classes and connect with so many wonderful people here.

Yoga, for me, is more than movement — it’s a way to feel supported, grounded, and part of something warm and genuine. And that’s exactly what I want to offer to you.

Especially during the Christmas season, when life gets busy and stressful, I want you to know there is a calm, safe space waiting for you.
My classes are for everybody — beginners, seasoned practitioners, people returning after a long break, or anyone who simply needs a peaceful hour to themselves.

🌿 I teach at the Fisherrow Centre every Wednesday at 6pm.
We move gently, breathe deeply, release tension, and create a moment of stillness in the middle of the week.

I hope to share not just yoga, but a sense of community, kindness, and trust.
If you’d like to join or have any questions, I’m always here — and you are always welcome. ✨

Warmly,
Emanuela

I started practicing yoga when I was 18, and over the years I’ve made peace with all the dogmas — the idea of perfect alignment, the perfect teacher, the perfect practice.

Now I just teach in my own way.
I love yoga, but I also love a good party, going a bit crazy sometimes, breaking the rules and just enjoying life — because that’s balance too. 🌿

Yoga, for me, isn’t about perfection.
It’s about people, presence, and freedom.

How about you — what’s something you let go of to make your practice (or your life) feel more real? 💬✨

It’s heartbreaking how often we fail to learn from our mistakes. My greatest hope for the future is a world without war, where everyone is accepted and can live in peace. It may sound like idealism, but I pray that those with the power to stop this genocide will finally open their eyes.
