Your Babolat Range - How to choose the correct racket for you!
Babolat is the only Padel supplier that has a range of rackets with clear distinctions based on your preferred playing style.
- Red = Power Rackets
- Blue = Versatility Rackets
- Yellow = Precision Rackets
- Stima Range = Female friendly rackets (lighter)
- Alioth Rackets = Junior Racket Range
The price range from left to right is usually dependent upon materials used in the construction of the rackets - carbon vs. fiberglass. More expensive rackets does not always mean best, entry level rackets for beginners are usually more suitable than the advanced rackets as advanced rackets need a significantly higher skill level to get the most out of the functional features. When choosing a racket it helps to know where the 'sweet spot' is... it is directly in-line with widest part of the racket, on power rackets this is close to the top of the racket, and found lower on the versatility and precision rackets.
In terms of racket longevity, fibreglass rackets have greater longevity than carbon-flex rackets, if a padel player is playing 2-3x p/week with carbon-racket, recommended that change rackets 2-3x p/year for optimum performance.
Carbon fiber (stiff, powerful, durable) and fiberglass (flexible, comfortable, forgiving) offer fundamentally different performance in padel rackets, suited for different skill levels. Carbon provides maximum power and immediate, precise feedback for advanced players, while fiberglass offers a softer, "trampoline effect" that boosts ball output on slower hits and protects the arm.
