JUNIOR SUCCESS AT BRUNTSFIELD! 🏆

What a week for our junior golfers!

Edinburgh Junior Inter Club Trophy Winners:
Huge congratulations to Harry Ewing, Max Murray, Caleb Pickett & Phebe Pickett — securing a 4th consecutive win for Bruntsfield! 🔥

Royal Burgess Junior Open:
Lochlan Scott — Gross 70
Jamie Heathwood — Net 62

Aidan Lawson:
Runner-up in the Scottish Amateur after an outstanding five match-play wins.

🏴 Aidan also represented Team Scotland at the Boys Home Internationals and has been selected for Team GB&I in the Jacques Léglise Trophy this month! 🇬🇧

What an incredible set of achievements. Well done to all our juniors!

On Friday, we hosted the Alexander McKellar Society who were visiting from Sweden, as they celebrated their 40th anniversary. As avid golfers, they chose to name themselves after Alexander McKellar, the first known fanatical golfer!

If you haven’t heard of the infamous Alexander McKellar, the so called ‘Cock of the Green’ as named by his wife, he was the first documented golf ‘maniac’ who played the original Bruntsfield Links course back in 1800.

Congratulations to Susan Woodhouse from East Kilbride, our 2026 winner of the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society Woman’s Scratch Open. Susan, who won the 2025 Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship, won yesterday against 41 other competitors with a one over par in total, in conditions that were sometimes testing. Thank you to our sponsor, Total Golf Studios, and BLGS member, Richard Dixon.

Golf Operations Supervisor, Megan Scott, attended the Scottish Golf ‘Join The Drive’ Women’s Leadership Summit, on Thursday, held in the second year of their Woman and Girls Strategy 2025-2035.

She joined 80 club officials, coaches, golf influencers and golf industry figures to meet and listen to keynote speakers and discuss, debate and share ideas on how stakeholders in the game can build on a hugely positive year.

I’m sure Megan came away with lots of new leadership knowledge and ideas that she can continue to implement at Bruntsfield!
