SeiShin Budo the true spirit of Tenshinkan Karate and Kobudo Our karate is a combination of fighting techniques and self defence, we call if goshin-jutsu. We practice kobujutdu based on Ryukyu Kobujutsu Hozon Shinkokai.

Classes are held on Wednesdays at 6pm-8pm and Thursdays at the Blackridge
Primary School Tenshinkan Karate is mainly focused on fighting techniques, it incorporates sabakis and weapons, its katas are similar to Shotokan's. Private lessons are available. It suits adults and children, progression at their own pace.

After many years I have managed to put together the late Hanshi Hans Haupt katana kata, this is a tribute to Hanshi Hans love for Budo, he used to talk about our style a complete system, karate, Kobujutsu and Goshin Jutsu "all in one". I continue keeping it as true as possible!!
Only regret is lack of time to continue its practice and development.
Hanshi Hans has always professed that our system blends in seamlessly karate attack avoidance (sabaki), counter attack with takedowns (goshin-jutsu) and weapons practice (weapons of opportunity included) to improve footwork for better timing and distance, making a very effective self defence system.

I have found this Tekko kata on Sensei Richard Kim kobudo book. I don't know its name. I just call it Shihan no Tekko.
I introduce this kata in the 2nd Dan syllabus. I have altered the double blocks in Doge Uke Tsuki (simultaneous Block and strike) in line with our karate style training methods.
I strongly believe that the latter makes more sense than a double block, whom ever got simultaneously attacked with two strikes, and even if you block the two, with a double block, in all kata the ere is always a single counterattack!!
